Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! This is the first time I've replied on this thread though I've been following it for a little while. All the information has been very helpful. I am getting married at Akumal, which means I have Yuritzia for a WC. So far I've only had one email from her and I am down to 5 weeks until we leave. It's a little frustrating but hopefully it will all turn out.

We are hoping to have a poolside reception as well and have requested DJ Bob due to a couple of recommendations on the thread. Since he doesn't actually work for the resort, do we have to contact him or will the resort arrange that for us?

Hi Heidi,

Sorry, I don't know how to quote messages yet!

Thanks for replying. We too have Karla, so I am happy to hear when the time comes to talk with her that things should go quickly. We were also wanting to have a private reception by the pool, and based on what I've read here DJ Bob is the man. Who do you have DJing? How about photographers? Again, based from what I've read the Claudia Rodriguez group is great, I've looked at Citalli's work and it looks great. I'm hoping to get a reply from them and book her.

Even though as you said it could change, we have been given a 4 pm ceremony time, which works great for me, because we hope to do exactly what you are doing with dinner and reception.

Keep up that excitement! I'm excited for you just thinking that I'll be doing the same thing next year!

Bye!

Julie

I made mine about 2 months before I would make them as early as you can as they fill up fast. You can make appointments for your bridal party. I would warn people that if they do not prebook they may not be able to get a appt.

i just confirmed my manicure appts with the spa and i leave in 2 weeks. although it's just a manicure and not any bridal styling so that probably makes a difference.

they also just told me that prices went up by 15%...assuming ALL their prices went up and not just manicures

so here's the prices jazmin gave me, in pesos:

BRIDES AND MAKEUP

Hair styling $ 790

Bridal hair styling $ 895

Make-up $ 580

So up by 15% is

Hair styling $ 980.5 = 91 CND

Bridal hair styling $ 1029.25 = 95 CND

Make-up $ 667 = 62 CND

might want to confirm with the spa that all prices went up, email is [email protected]. they respond pretty quickly

good nyssa im glad it helped :) you will like having the reception at tequila, it feels so secluded and secret, down the path from the rest of the buildings. are you using the gazebo? its literally like RIGHT there on the path near tequila, great location! sadly we were there at dark, so i didnt get the best pics of the gazebo, but i will post them here anyways asap :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
