Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Wow. It has taken me a couple weeks of reading to get through this. My fiance has called me "obsessed" LOL.

We are officially booked at GBP -Tulum for February 25, 2010! I am pretty excited and we have a bunch of guests already booked!

This forum has been great for info. I have never been on a forum before (not a super computer person) so hopefully this works!

Thanks! We have just finished finalizing a bunch of stuff and as of today 31 adults and 4 kids are booked!

I know the resort will do a lot of the stuff, but figuring out photographers (still trying to find out if they will let us bring in our own) and the OOT bags! Flowers I think will be easy. Bright, fresh pretty.....should be ok:)

See that is where I am confused. Jazmin just sent me a message saying no....I have been in touch with Claudia Rodriguez and she says she has a meeting with the resort on Friday and will let me know the decision. I know they are not using that Conrado any longer, but I am not sure how I feel about the resort choosing my photographer....or the packages they offer.

I guess I will have to wait and see after Friday! I am so impatient though!

Please post whatever you find out. I haven't been able to get straight answers from the resort. I asked claudia to ask as well. I emailed them and said that if they are going to change the policy than they have to let brides know at the time of booking the date. Because everyone else hasn't had a problem until now.

well it's good to know that not everyone did a group rate. i am still deciding...just waiting 'impatiently' for the save the dates! i think sending those out will start to make things feel more official too!

so what's this info about conrad not being the resort photog anymore? or about bringing in local photographers? does anyone have the contact info or website for the new photog? i am just trying to figure out our budget now for that.

thanks!

I got an email from Jazmin last week and this is exactly what she wrote about the photographer:

In case you required photo services, the one authorized to shot the weddings is amazing, as follow you can see his main packages, just let me know what you decide to can book him,
v DVD 25 minutes, with edition 400.00 USD
v Photo Packages (Have to be paid directly to the Photographer)

the contact is with Ms Russe Pla, she´s the wedding photo & video manager assistance, and she has 2 emails where you can try to contact her, russ.pla@arrecifestudio.com photorp@yahoo.com.
m

So I'm not sure if she's saying this is the only photographer authorized to shoot on the resort? It's kind of vague. The website doesn't show a lot of variety either... so I'm really confused too! If anyone finds anything out please post :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
