I think they are both fantastic!! From what I can remember when we were there...Gran Tortuga had a better food selection (steakhouse)...and Tequila had more of a Mexcian ambience. I guess it really depends on what you're going for. I don't think you'll be disappointed either way though...

Awesome, Turtle - congrats!. I'm glad to hear everything went super well. I'd be interested to hit you up with some questions about your timeline, since i'm getting married on the Tulum side in January.

How long did you have your reception for? Were dj Bob's fees similar to the resort's? Did you guys head to the disco after (in other words, are you doing a wedding review or should i just email you?) :P

Looking forward to pics!

So does anyone else feel like you should be doing something though there is nothing left to do? I'm just over 2 months away now and I can't think of anything else that needs to be done. Should I just start planning my AHR now? Or heaven forbid I am missing out on something. This peacefulness is making me uneasy.

Congrats Turtlewax15! Your wedding sounds exactly like how I want mine to be! I'm from Calgary as well so I'm just wondering how many guests you had and if you used a travel agent? The pool reception sounds awesome, definitely something I want to do! Do you have pics you can send or post? I'm curious to see how they set it up. Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
