Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I'm just wondering when everyone elses planning stopped? I've been in contact with Karla for the past couple weeks (daily) sorting out the timeline for the wedding day. Now that we're done that bit it seems as though the contact has been deminished. I asked about choosing the cake, decor, flowers etc for the day and she said we don't choose any of those things until we arrive. Have any of you girls been able to plan these things in advance?

Hey, I pretty much got the same response from Karla. We planned the time line, whether there would be a dj, photographer, and location (Gazebo), reception dinner, and private cocktail.

As far as the flowers I chose the kind of flowers I would like and told her I would bring a pic of a bouquet that I like. We haven't talked about cake and as far as decor I asked for some balloons (for a balloon release at the end of our ceremony), so she got a quote for that. And I asked about getting rose petals for the aisle (which she mentioned is included in our package). Thats about it, she said we can figure out all the details when we get there, I'm not really too worried about it.

Although if you would like a bigger or more formal cake I might mention something, b/c the pics of the cake options, show that they are fairly small and simple.

Hope this helps and happy planning :-)

Thanks ladies. I guess I can rest knowing that we're all in the same boat. I'm sure it will all work out.

A balloon release was something I was thinking of requesting too. Do you mind if I ask how much she quoted you for that? I had no idea about the rose petals either. I'm not sure if I want them but it would be to ponder the idea.

Sure for 15 white and 15 dark purple balloons, Karla quote me $60usd. Which I think is a pretty good price :-)

Congrats Jenn, have fun with this thread, there are some awesome ideas!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
