Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

One thing that I would find out about is the "Mexican" night that they have at the Hacienda. I see that you're getting married on a Thursday...and if that is the same night that they do the Mexican fiesta night...then I don't think you can rent out the disco. Sorry...but I don't know the price for the disco...but I think it may be somewhere in this thread.

I am doing a poolside reception (weather permitting) so you may want to check into something like that?

Is it Christian (Karla's assistant) that has gotten back to you from the resort? I just received an email from him yesterday...so now we can start planning :)

Yes I did get an e-mail from Karla's assistant who told me that she will be away until July 27th. So I only have one month with Karla before the Wedding date. Scary! The assistant is not great at english because she actually said June 27 first??

I hope thats enough time.

We have booked the Mediterranean Restaurant for our Dinner and wondering if anyone has any comments on it. We are also considering the Disco for the reception but have no idea of the price or if it will just be for the wedding guests. Please help!
The Mediterranean restaurant is one of my favourites on the property...we have stayed at Bahia Coba five times and have dined there each time. Great pick!!

Hey everyone, we are back... and a review is going to come shortly. We were married at GBP Tulum and it was like a dream, more than we could have expected. Jazmin came throught for EVERYTHING even at the last minute when it looked like it was going to rain. we were so thoroughly satisfied and beyond with the wedding and reception!!

So for half of these pictures at least one of us thought we were flying out the next day!

I thought I'd post them because inspite of all the things that can go wrong a wedding at GBP is amazingly stress free and so worth it! Claudia, the photographer did a great job and Liam, the groom, did a great job of pretending!

Thank you so much for sharing your pictures. They are beautiful!!! I am using Erick from Claudia's team & we booked him for the smallest package which is 3 hrs. Do you think thats enough timehuh.gif How long did you have yours for? We have already paid the deposit but might change the amount of time we have him for. Any advice would help.
Thanks
Tara

Claudia was awesome... she was so friendly we felt like we knew her personally. Erik is her brother, he did our friends engagment photos and was at our reception as well. we did 5 hours... three would probably get you getting ready, ceremony, and some after, but probably not reception pics. They were so awesome to work with.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
