i just brought a roll from Hobby Lobby that was about 1 1/2 inches thick. It was MORE than enough. I gave it to the WC along with my pictures of what I wanted the flowers (and the wrap) to look like. She gave it to the florist and everything turned out brilliant!

lol...the streakers still kill me too!

I don't have a good picture of the flowers as we don't have our pro pictures yet - here's a couple bad ones though:

In this picture she's holding her bouqet and mine. Mine was quite a bit bigger and I added 4 orchids to mine.

Here's the bridesmaid bouqets

Also, just for comparison, here's the picture I had sent Jazmin. I told her I wanted them to look like this but with hot pink gerbers and white roses (and adding the orchids to mine).

The tequila was good. I had the beef fajita and liked it. They are corn tortillas which is pretty standard for Mexico. Flour tortillas are tex-mex. My flowers had the white plastic holder but I wasn't really particular about it. I picked a bouquet from the book and it was really pretty. I will post more pics soon. Just have to do a save as so I can resize them for here without messing up the pics from the group album.

We picked our flowers out of the book and this is what my bouquet looked like:

And a close up:

We had dinner at the tequila too our menu was:

1 Entry РMexican Entr̩e Plater Buffet (Our group finished off the platters and they brought our more!)

1 Soup – “Azteca” Soup

1 Main course – Chicken Breat Medallions

1 dessert – Tres Leche Cake

And everyone LOVED the food!

We're booked to have our reception dinner at the Tequila too. For those who have eaten the fajitas, were they messy/drippy? I vetoed them because I had visions of the groomsmen in their nice bright white shirts ending up with fajita juice down the front... (ok, maybe being a little controlling) We were thinking of the Grilled Marinated Arrachera - has anyone here tried it? We will also be asking for a vegetarian option as I and a few of the guests don't eat meat. I wonder what they'll come up with for that?

Hello Ladies! We have just a bit over six months and getting excited! I just got off the phone with Yuritzia, i decided to call her since emails were not getting a response and we talked for almost half an hour and she is actually very nice. She gave me lots of information and peace of mind. we just booked the poolside cocktails and dancing with DJ and i have to say it is very reasonably priced. she also said she would email me all sorts of pictures of setup, locations, flowers, menus etc. is anyone is getting married at the akumal side your options for dinner are Dolce Vita (Italian) of Frutos del Mar(Seafood) Did anyone use either of these restaurants? how were they? not sure which one to choose. thanks for the advice! let me know if you have any questions!

Yuritzia has not answered any of my emails starting to get frustration if my guests did not book I would consider selecting another resort. What prices did she give you for 2009, would you mind sharing? I think I may call her what number did you call and did she speak good english that there is no confusion? Our wedding is in a little over 3 months and I am starting to get nervous.

JK: I know about the frustration, i emailed her in july and copied Paloma in on it and Paloma replied that Yuritzia was on vacation so i waited and waited and waited..... well i got tired of waiting LOL my wedding is in 6 months, yours is so close, i would be freaking out right about now! ok so here is what i got from her today... BTW she speaks great english, nothing to worry about there. As far as prices we only discussed cocktail options not wedding packages but i do have the price list that they have for all the packages for the ceremonies etc, do you have that? if not let me know and i can email it to you. We have booked the DJ and poolside cocktails and dancing for 2 and a half hours. our ceremony is 4pm dinner is at 6-8 pm, cocktails poolside is 830 to 11 and then live music for an hour at the hacienda before the disco opens. The DJ is $150 an hour, he can play his own stuff or you can bring your own or do both, the cocktails you have2 options: regular is$5 per person for the 1st hr and $3 for the 2nd & 3rd hr and that includes beer, pina colada, margaritas & pop. the international is $17 per person and $12 for the2nd & 3rd hr and it basically includes everything. There is no minimum to be able to book the private poolside cocktail thing, we only have about 15 ppl and so it will only cost us about $ 550 pretty good deal, it includes lights, tables and chairs and linens, i am planning on doing the first dance and cake cutting here. The 2 options for the dinner that she told me was the Italian or the Seafood. The 2 ceremony locations she offered were the hammocks (she recommends this one) or the dock (for smaller groups up to 20 i think she said), she will email me the spa services list and restaurant menus in about a month also, she said wedding gown steaming is $20 to $25. hmm what else, i asked so many questions... bride, groom, parents, bridal party and witnesses may all take their wrist bands off for the day so it doesnt interfere with pictures. the dinner includes a dessert or in lieu of dessert they can make you cake instead she suggested the chocolate cake. Let me know if you have any more questions, i may know the answer. oh also she was very nice about doing a welcome dinner, she said she could book a section off at the riviera buffet so the whole group could dine together. its nerve racking not knowing a lot but i am sure everything will turn out great, they do like a million weddings a year LOL my only big concern is the spa specifically for hair, not hearing too many good things about them. I might source out someone from mexico to come and do it for us instead, i think i will ask claudia rodriguez for suggestions. Happy Planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
