Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

That's awesome Joanna! how has all the wedding planning been going? Have you figured out what you're doing for dinner, etc?

Tlseege - were mosquitos a problem for the poolside?

Also, any recommendations about photographers? And how long is a good time to book them for? I'm looking for someone that won't be too pricey - ~$2000.

hi mayanbutterfly,

you can find all this photographer info if you search the forums but here's my research on mexico photographers. some have prices, some don't if i wasn't that interested in them. also some prices i just copy pasted from what was posted so you'll want to confirm with the actual photographers.

i booked with claudia photo and am getting either erick or citilalli for 3 hours. but i'm not having pics done of my reception so that's why it's only 3 hours. ceremony, group, and me and my FI, that's it.

hope it helps :)

Hi Calchik!

Thanks for the info. This is great!

Joanna - currently we are thinking of having doing the ala carte dinner, then doing a dance/cocktail/cutting cake poolside. Not sure of all the details yet as I'm still waiting to hear back from Paloma about the date. I definitely did things in a backwards order - I have flights booked and I thought my TA had taken care of the actual wedding date 2 months ago, but when I questioned her about it, turns out she's barely been in touch with the WCs at all! It's been a bit of a rocky start, but hopefully things will get better from here on.

Haha, I have a feeling "rocky" is one of the key words with DWs... but most people seem to love them in the end! Don't worry, everything will work out. And make sure you keep on your TA about getting everything figured out as well. Let me know what happens with the date and all!

Nope, not a signle mosquito the whole time we were there. They were spraying... so maybe that's why, or maybe it was the time of yearhuh.gif

I brought my own photographer for just around $2,000... slightly more. However, I found a photographer who had never done a destination wedding and wanted to expand their portfolio. By doing so, he gave me an AMAZING deal and I got three days worth of photos for what some people pay a photographer for 5 hours! It was an amazing idea and I really highly suggest you try and find something along those lines.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
