Thanks!
For Tulum, the rained out location is the Tequila restaurant. There are pictures on Page 9 of this thread.

ETA: Oops, I just realized you meant dinner not the wedding... sorry! I'm not sure where the dinner gets moved if it rains.

Thanks for trying Stacy! But yep, I'm looking for the dinner option. I've heard that it's a meeting room in the basement with no windows! Yuck, eh?

FH and my family are dead-set against having guests use one of their a la carte's for the wedding dinner. sad.gif It's just that since we're getting married in October, there's a good chance it might rain.

I can't believe I'm asking but...has anyone done their wedding dinner in the buffet? Did they do any set-up for you?

Are ALL the restaurants open-air? Is that why you are asking about rain out?

I don't wanna eat in the basement!

I am 99% sure it will rain on my wedding day too.....I know it's good luck, but I hope it clears up for the wedding...or just rains for a little bit!

No, the restaurants are fine. It's that when you do your dinner in a restaurant it counts as one of your guests a la cartes and FH didn't want to do that. So we were going to do the private poolside dinner - it's THAT dinner where the rain option is the "meeting room" (which I think is in the basement).

Hey Amanda. Yes, our rainout option was in the basement... HOWEVER that was for the Akumal side. Who knows what it is on the Tulum side.

We had our welcome dinner in the buffet. They blocked off a section for us and it was perfectly fine.

Honestly, if it rains don't worry about being in the basement. It'll still be beautiful and you'll be surrounded by your closest family and friends. Not to mention, you don't need to STAY in the basement. Have your rain plan be to eat dinner down there, toast, maybe do an hour of dj with your first dance, and stuff like that... but then have everyone go to the bars with live musichuh.gif Could that be an option?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
