$46 includes dinner and an open bar

I would get the mugs if you can afford them. Everyone used them from our group.

Excursions... the public beach in Tulum where i had my TTD done was AMAZING~! and it has a super cute restaurant on the beach and bar. Decent prices. It also has a bunch of activities like wind surfing you can do.

Did anyone have any guests complain about the certificates for the ala carte resturants? We are going to have our wedding dinner at one of the resturants then do a recpection either outside or at the disco depending on the weather. One guest said they do not fell it is all inclusive since they can not go to any resturant any night of the week. The person is only coming for a long weekend so they will loose the 1 certifacte they get for the ala carte sicee it will be used for the wedding dinner. Which makes me feel bad so for those that are upset I would like to buy them a certificate is that possible?

I am hoping to have a welcome dinner and rehersal dinner for everyone at the buffet so people will not notice.

Which wedding package are you choosing? The reason I ask was because we did the deluxe religious ceremony and they didn't ask for anything from our guests for the dinner. All of our guests still booked their same amt. of dinners outside of our reception. One thing that you should be aware of is that in general it is hard to book the A la carts...when we showed up on Wed. there were no good times available until like Saturday. That was my only complaint about the resort is the difficulty in booking those.

Just Martha - One excursion that I definitely recommend is snorkelling in Akumal Bay - The Bahia Dive shop offers an excursion for $40 (I think) they take you by boat to the bay, provide your snorkelling equipment, and help you find all the turtles! We went on their excursion, but a couple of days later, we took a collectivo to Akumal Bay (make sure you tell them 'bay' otherwise they might take you to the Akumal pueblo) and rented equipment from the dive shop there (I think it was $15 for the WHOLE day) and snorkelled our hearts out. For lunch, definitley hit up Lucy's Taco's (the shrimp taco is AMAZING).

The whole day (9-4) spent in Akumal Bay cost us about $35pp. Cheaper and we got to spend a lot more time snorkelling.

Oh, how I wish I could go back there... I absolutely loved Akumal Bay.

They don't actually give you certificates. But you are only allowed 3 (??) per week and 5 (??) per two week stay. And the wedding dinner does count towards one of your guests a la carte meals. We didn't have anyone complain at all (maybe that's because the meal was soooo good).

the Tulum Ruins were where I had the problem. The public Tulum beach was perfect! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
