Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hey gals,

Did any of you rent/use lounge furniture for your coctail hours/beach reception? I know my wc yuritzia had mentioned that she would give me vendor info but you all know wc's and how quick they are to get back to you, so i figured maybe one of you may have done it... thanks...

oh.. also did any of you use their media equipment for like slideshow pics or anything like that to play during dinner? I was hoping to do that as well... Thanks gals

OOohhh.. one last question... did anyone consider/ask about the use of fire dancers for entertainment at the resort? I wanted to do something like this after our rehearsal dinner... I know some resorts restrict fire dancers... thanks again!

Can I add some questinos to the list too? :)

We're planning on doing the private poolside dinner. Jazmin said it needs to be at 7pm or after. Has anyone done their first dance, father/daughter dance at the dinner? I was hoping to do the two dances right away (at 7) and then go into dinner and we could just do speeches during dinner. I didn't know if there was room for this or not though.

Also, does anyone have pictures of where your dinner gets moved to if it rains?

Our outside reception was at the Akumal side... but I assume it's very similar. There was definitely room for speeches and dancing during dinner... and I wish we would have done that too! Shucks!

Yay! Well I just got back on Wed. from our wedding on the 24th. I am at work now and will write more of an in depth review later and post some of our non-professional pics. All I have to say is that it was perfect. It was a fairy tale wedding. Jazmin was super great and sweet, and Citalli with Claudia Photo was also great to work with. I have no complaints / regrets and wish I could still be there! :o) Hope that helps settle any nerves that people had - I know I was worried with the email communication from the resort. They really do know what they're doing - it's what they do and they're great at it. smile159.gif

We were told that there were none of these rooms. My parents and sister THOUGHT they were getting this and turns out theirs was a regular room with three beds. Kind of stinks but it was something my sister inferred rather than actually confirming what the room actually was.

QUOTE=Tlseege;393988]Ah ha, the joining rooms question! RUMOR has it that there are some... RUMOR also has it that they are only on the first floor... RUMOR also has it that they are the two double bed rooms... RUMOR also has it that they are standard rooms only.

Now, key word being RUMOR! None of our guests had joining rooms and we never saw any... but then again... we really didn't go into people's rooms!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
