The other restuarant for my wedding date was reserved back in August already!!! it doesn't matter to me, since I'm doing to pool thing... but if I weren't I'd be upset!

Thank you! Was it Jazmin that changed the time of your ceremony 3times? Did she say why?

We also want to have a welcome reception for a meet and greet for everyone prior to the wedding. Does anyone know of a good area on the resort? Would the lobby bar be ok? We also want to bring our gift bags for that event, so will need tables and such.

The lobby bar would be a perfect location! Just make sure you start a bit earlier (like 7 or 8pm) cause it seems to fill up when the band starts playing.

Tlseege: What are the prices for the poolside reception? Do you get to pick what kind of food you want for that reception? My fiance and I were thinking of doing an offsite reception because they told us we can't have a Mexican dinner, since we're staying at the Akumal section, and the Akumal section doesn't have the Mexican restaurant...

Martha: My fiance and I are the second wedding of the day on November 8th (ie, we are the second couple to book), so the wedding planner told us that we'd get second choice of the restaurants. We aren't allowed to "reserve" the restaurant until after the other couple, and also not until 2.5 mos before the wedding. So, I don't know whether they will let you choose now or not wink.gif

First off, you must have 50 people for the poolside reception. It's $46 dollars a person for the meal. You can choose from three different menus: BBQ, Carribean, Mexican. You get 5 entrees and it's set up buffet style. All dinnerware is china.
Then, if you want drinks, it's $5 per person for the first hour, and $3 each additional hour. And that's only for Margaritas, beer, pina coladas, and champagne. Anything else is even more.
The DJ is $150 an hour.

I have photos and menus if you'd like to see them. Just PM me.

Sunsierra -- do you know whether this Bahia Principe charges a "per person" fee for setting up chairs for the wedding? Other resorts I got info from told me that if we have over 15 people, it's $10 or $15 per person extra. I haven't seen anything like that on GBP's wedding info.

OK so I have less than a month to my wedding and Yuritzia has emailed me twice.... that's 2 times in a year and a half!!!!! I hope all goes well but this really ticks me off. My travel agent has even phoned there and has been told that Yuritzia is or has just sent an email... I tried emailing another address but had no luck with that either. Does anyone have the head coordinator's emailhuh.gif This is just ridiculous

If you go on the Bahia Principe site under weddings you'll find an e-mail for Paloma or something like that. I've emailed her, and that's what caused Yuritizia to e-mail me.

What questions do you have? perhaps we can help?

Sarah - I don't think there is a charge for extra seats (but please don't quote me as we only had 12 or so seated).

You will need to pay extra for the champagne though (we did) and I believe the cake (if you have more than 18 people) - but our cake was huge! We didn't even eat a quarter of it with 20 people.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
