Hello ladies, does anyone knows how the toast after the ceremony works?. I mean after the ceremony do waiters come with the bottles and start serving cups? Do they put stools or sth?

My ceremony will be at 4pm and my dinner starts at 5:30pm. Then after the ceremony I will have only 1 hr to have the toast and take the photos. During this hour the trio will play.

I am debating between keeping the Romance package that includes canapes and cocktails after the ceremony or going for the unforgettable package, if after all seems like all the packages include the bottles for toast after ceremony. Does anyone has had cocktails after ceremony and/or only the bottles included in the package and opinions?

Thank you very much

After the ceremony, they walk around passing the drinks to the guests.

We couldn't use this as it was only 4 bottles provided which was good for only 20-25 guests, we had 90 people so we would have to spend way too much for the toast. We had water and orange juice passed around which was appreciated in the heat at 3pm.

We didn't do anything organized after the ceremony, as there are tons of bars around for people to hang out at anyway.

My package includes live music. We don't want it for the ceremony, and we can't use it for the dinner because it's semi private, and we aren't doing a cocktail hour, so what do I do? Would the resort let me use them at one of the bars for pre-dinner drinks after photos?

Or I could be crazy and have them during the photos. Maybe take photos with them too lol.

Hi! I had my wedding back on august 4.

We didnt invite many people -- only those closest to us and had a turnout of about 40 total.

I am going to be attending one of my friend's weddings next month, and wasn't sure how much to give.

My friend and I have been friends since graduate school (about 4.5 years --- still currently in grad school together. We are working on our PhDs.

I had a shower, and invited his fiance. His fiance and cousin (I also am in school with his cousin, but have only known her for like 2 years) bought me a combined gift totaling about $50. At the wedding, in Mexico, my friend and his fiance attended, as well as his cousin and she brought her sister.... I am not that close to his cousin, but since I wanted to be nice and fair I invited her too.

I didn't receive a gift or card from any of them --- and normally this wouldnt bother me, but there are a few reasons it is....My friend who is getting married keeps saying how he wants everyone to attend his wedding that he invited and he hopes to get a lot of money and gifts at his wedding.... (his wedding will be local - not destination - and he will have like 300 or more guests there).

I attended his shower last month and spent about $50. Although my husband works, I am still technically unemployed because I am a graduate student and working at an internship that literally is paying me 3 grand a year! (yes I know, its ridiculous)

I'm not sure how much I should give him for a gift for his wedding.... His family and fiance's family are paying for most of his wedding and the two showers they held.... for my shower and wedding, my husband and I covered most of everything.

I know that as a destination wedding it is sort of expected that people will give you less money since they are traveling, However, my friend and his fiance, as well as his cousin and cousin's sister, were the only people who did not give us a gift at my wedding out of everyone else that attended... and I even had family and friends who could not attend that still gave us something.

So, basically for the wedding and shower he gave me $25, (because his fiance and cousin split a gift that totaled $50 at my shower).... I so far have spent $50 alone for his shower gift... how much should I give him at the wedding? The wedding is also 2 days after Christmas.

Thank you!!!

Hello to all brides that have had recent weddings at Coba :)

My daughter is getting married May 14th at this resort and we are very confused as to the cost of the actual wedding. We have 70 people booked to come, she does not mind having the diner semi private, is there an extra cost to that? She would also like to have the poolside reception , then head to the disco. It is like pulling teeth to get any answer from wedding co coordinator there, we are almost ready to pull out and find a different resort :(  I cannot find the 2015 prices anywhere, and cannot link to the link on here, as I do not have enough posts. One of the main concerns my daughter has, is the location of the ceremony, now that Akumal in no longer available, she does not like the cement gazebo at Tulum so we have emailed the wedding co ordinator to see if she can be directly on the beach.

I would really appreciate any past bride to pm me or possibly ease my mind as to what the cost or ideas for diner? Thank you so much :)

There is also a lovely beach location at Tulum with a large wooden awning over top which should be available for Coba brides.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
