Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Mine is just one week before yours! :-)

Yes we had that communication problem too so we actually gave them a call. Since then, they have been replying emails in a timely manner, plus giving confirmation for our requests. Who's your coordinator? I would suggest you copy Linda/Paloma in the communications. Hope this helps!

My wedding coordinator is Gina. What did you say on then phone!? Maybe I will call. Was their English pretty good?

I told them I'm waiting for their response / confirmation on certain things, I think it was Linda I spoke with. Then re-send everything after the call. Yes their English are ok to communicate with. Good luck!!!

Hi everyone. Good day!

How's everyone's wedding planning with the coordinator?

My wedding day is Just less than 2 months now, wish I had joined this communication earlier :-)

It was stressful before last week.. but Maria responded to everything I needed finally. I still have questions so hopefully the communication will continue from now onwards.

2 months today we leave. what's the exact date of your wedding?

Did you get any answers about bringing your own decorations and who will set them up?

I didn't even get to that part yet. I was still at the point of deciding what I wanted for dinner and such.

I will be asking her soon, I also need more info about flowers because I want lots of them!

I haven't sent back my dinner yet. I have questions about it. Like what child friendly option is there.

I have flower questions too. Their stuff looks pretty dated.

  • 2 weeks later...

You can bring your own decorations and they set them up.

what decorations do you recommend? do we need chair sashes or table runners if we don't want all white?

I was thinking maybe lanterns as well as candles for the tables.

If you don't want white you can bring your own or pay for theirs... but you'll be limited on the color selection.

Personally I brought my own table runners and that was enough for me (they ended up adding pink chair bows for free which was kind, but that doesn't happen too often).

For the tables, they are pretty crowded with the fancy serving plates, menus, the typical resort provided centerpieces (usually a bird of paradise type flower and oil candles).  So honestly, I recommend no table centerpieces.  But if you do round tables perhaps it'd be more appropriate.

How long where the table runners you brought?

I'm thinking of using my extra chair sashes and going horizontal in front of each seating.(for a square table)

Will they move the chair sashes from ceremony to pool side reception?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
