Hello, 

 

Is it possible to book our included ala carte restaurants prior to coming down to the resort?

 

Is it possible to book our "beach candlight dinner" prior to coming down to the resort?

 

Is it possible to have a rehersal with bridal party?

 

I want to make a schedule/itenary to include with the wedding letter, so that we can plan time to spend with people before going down to mexico so that we are not overwhelmed... i want to make sure we have time alone too.

The resort has a new rule (just went in March I believe) that you have to book the ala cartes AT the resort.  You can download the app or do it at the desk when you arrive.

ok thank you for the heads up. how many people did a speech? I'm thinking that we can have my dad, fiances brother, sister, and fiances parents do a speech. 

 

I'm just worried that people might be too buzzed by poolside reception for the speeches? When did you do them - like right when the poolside reception before all the dancing?

 

Is dinner about 2 hours long?

 we had 4 people do speeches and it took like 10 mins..but thats just because their speeches were short..some of our guests were drunk by the reception which was fine with us cause its a giant party..ceremony was from like 4-430 then pictures until 6 then dinner went until about 7-7:30. the guests HAD to be out by 8..they charge $400 per 15 mins extra if anyone is left sitting around past the time your suppose to leave. Reception was from 8-11..

We will be staying at the Tulum resort. Do we get to meet with the wedding coordinator before the wedding? Is it possible to have a rehearsal prior to the actual wedding? ---- I was just thinking that my wedding party could meet the night before the wedding and do a quick 5 or 10 minute run through, and then just talk about the plan for the wedding day....

 

I actually am working on creating a "welcome letter" for our guests with an itinerary on it... my fiance and I dont want to be swarmed by our guests all week, so we are creating set times of our availability to provide some alone time for us.... Did anyone else do this, or is planning to do it?

·         Day - Mayan Adventure. All guests welcome to join!

·         Evening - Bride and groom have private dinner together.

 

Saturday, August 2:

·         Day - Bride and groom relax together, and make preparations for wedding.

·         Evening - Bride and groom have dinner with bride’s parents.

 

Sunday, August 3:

·         Day - Bride and groom relax together and prepare for wedding.

·         5:30pm – wedding rehearsal & meeting with wedding party and parents of bride and groom at the Tulum gazebo.

·         6:00pm – dinner at the Tulum buffet - all guests welcome to join! 

 

Monday, August 4: wedding day!

·         3:00pm ceremony at Tulum Gazebo

·         5:00pm-6:00pm cocktail hour with drinks, live music, and speeches

·         6:00pm to 8:00pm dinner at Tequila Mexican Restaurant

·         8:00pm to 10:30pm poolside reception

·         NOTE: Dress code for men at the Tequila Mexican Restaurant is long pants or dress shorts and shirts with sleeves (long or short sleeves, no tank tops). The wedding dinner will count as one of the a la carte dinners of the all-inclusive package.

 

Tuesday, August 5:

·         Day - Newlyweds rest and relax together.

·         Evening – Newlyweds have private dinner together.

 

Wednesday, August 6:

·         Day - Newlyweds rest and relax together.

·         Evening - Newlyweds have private dinner together.

 

Thursday, August 7:

·         Newlyweds checkout! J

Is there a gym on the Tulum resort?

We plan on doing a welcome letter and including a couple events we would like our guests to be apart of if they choose. We are not including our time we want alone as that may come across as rude, they have flown far and paid lots to be at our wedding. If we do run into people I am sure they will understand the alone time we have planned that day and honour it.

The resort is really big I don't think running into your guests will be an issue. We went to a destination wedding last May and finding everyone was impossible. Having everyone's room number will definitely help.

I agree.  I think calling out alone time will come off the wrong way.

 

You meet with the wedding coordinator with a day or two of arriving.  You'll settle all the details at that time.

 

There is no actual rehearsal, but there really is no need for one.  It's very straight forward and they'll walk you through everything on that day.

What do you mean you left a space for everyone's room number on the welcome letter?

How did you make sure that everyone received a welcome letter?

 

How long did it take you to complete the bride and groom photos?

* Im estimating 15 mins for group pictures, 15 minutes for family photos, 15 minutes for bridal party, and 45 minutes for bride and groom (2 locations for bride and groom).

On the back of the welcome letter I made a little table that had everyone's names (that we're in each room) and left a space for people to write in room numbers.... Most of our guest arrived at the same time as us so we checked in I wrote down room numbers and passed out welcome letters... Everyone filled out there own but it was a great way to contact guest.

 

We had our own photographer and I wasn't really watching the time.... We took group pics, family pics, bridal party and bride and groom. We took pics straight from the ceremony to the dinner and our ceremony was at 3 and dinner at 6.... We did get pics in a few locations.
