Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Thank you!

Did anyone work out an arrangement that guests could have access to the other two resorts?  Especially the buffets...

Or, if you came with a large group, and not everyone stayed at the same resort, did that mean you couldn't do things together throughout your stay?

Certain things will have to be paid in cash depending on your package so make sure you ask your coordinator.  We had to pay the judge and the DJ in cash for our wedding, for example.  Otherwise they accept credit.

The material was half of whatever came on the spool, so I'd guess about 25-30" wide.  The other half of the width of material I cut and used as reception table runners.

This Tuesday I leave for Akumal with my fingers crossed that all goes well. The communication never improved with Eugenia and it has been a couple of weeks since I hav heard from her. Hopefully my unanswered questions will sort themselves put when I arrive.

I was just looking at the forecast am I am a bit worried about that as well. Is there an alternative if your wedding is to be scheduled on the beach and it rains?

Best wishes!!  I know it'll be amazing!!

If it rains then your wedding will be moved indoors to the bar between the Akumal Lobby and the theater.  It's pretty in there with fountains.   But typically it'll rain for just a little bit in the mornings (pre sunshine) so hopefully you will be just fine.

Hi, does anyone have any advice on the Spa. I was planning to get my hair and make up done there but I don't like heavy or dark makeup, and also haven't heard of they are good. Did anyone book in for a trial? Do you need to book car in advance? Any info would be much appreciated!

You definitely need to book in advance.  I used them for both and was very happy.  I did the mascara myself as I didn't want it too dark and I wanted it to be sanitary, but otherwise they did a good job.  It was darker than I'm used to, however my wedding was outside in the bright sun so it was just the right amount, especially for pictures.

Hi

I am getting married at GBP coba jan 21, 2015. I was just researching some photographers and every website is saying GBP only allows one local photographer , does anyone know who it is and if they are any good?

Thanks

Great website, so much to read my head is spinning!

You have the option of flying in your own photographer, otherwise your option is Tropic ONE Studio. Their prices are in the official thread.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
