We wanted to do a poolside reception following dinner. Is this included in the romance extravaganza package? It looks like 2 hours of cocktail hour is included, but we want 3. I dont know if we are going to get a DJ, or just use our ipod and rent out speakers and equipment. I feel like if we do the IPOD then we can make sure all of our songs get played... And I'm sure I could just have my cousin do the names of bridesmaids and groomsmen and bride and groom for the entrance, as well as lead the garter and bouquet toss... Any thoughts?

Unfortunately anything outside the dinner you pay separate so if you want to the dinner inside one of the restaurants that is included with your package but a reception pool side afterwards costs extra. I was quoted $2800 for the bar and that includes every kind of liquor/drinks and also set up of chairs and tables. The mic and speakers are a separate cost as well, and same with all the decorations unless you bring your own, we are also just bringing out IPOD and will hook it up to speakers:) seems to be a better choice!

For $2800 how many people were you quoted this for and is that for 2013 or 2014? With the romance extravaganza package the drinks are already included so was that for dinner or just DJ and music after dinner? Seems like a lot.

Hi katlew I'm from the UK as is my fiance, and Jazmin told me I only need my birth certificate translated and apostilled if we want our parents names on our marriage certificate, otherwise just need passports.

If you were previously divorced or are marrying someone from Mexico (according to websites I've read) there are more requirements.

Processional Music: Better Together - Jack Johnson, I Do - Colbie Caillat, All Your Life - The Band Perry.   I think I will be walking down the isle to Somewhere Over the Rainbow- Israel Kamakawiwo'ole.

Recessional Music: Marry You - Bruno Mars, Rhythm of Love - Plain White T's or You Make My Dreams Come True - Hall N Oats.

Does anyone know anything about "day passes" for guests?  We have friends that are flying in the day of our wedding for a family vacation (staying at Barcelo Maya) and would like to take a taxi over and attend the reception/dance.  Does anyone know that if they are only attending a private event at the resort whether or not they would be charged to get in???

They will charge your quests to come in and I think the last time I saw a price it was around $100 per quest to come in if they weren't stay there.

This email was sent to me in August from Maria.

We have different packages for a poolside cocktail after the dinner, as it is private it will have the following cost depending of the Open Bar you want:

National Bar:

Beer, Rum, Vodka, Tequila, Cocktails, Gin, Whisky          $2680 USD

Special Cocktails:

Beer, Piña Colada Cocktail, Margarita Cocktail

& Sparkling Wine                                                  $1400 USD

This option  is for 50 persons maximum , in case there´s more people will have an extra charge.

This packages includes 3 hours of open bar, set up, soft lighting, cocktail tables, white tiffany chairs microphone and music DJ

Hope it helps.

hi im too renewing my vows at the coba did you have any trouble with them replying to emails I have tried for 6 weeks now, they have asked for any extras we want via holiday company but have asked them for a price list and still waiting, did you have this trouble thanks

I have had nothing but trouble getting a response from them I am 3 months away from leaving and the only thing I have finalized is the restaurant. They have told me twice that they don't usually do much until the 2-3 month mark which I have tried emailing them about and still nothing.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
