It sounds like she thinks it's the floating sky lanterns and said no due to health and safety.

Ya, that's what I was thinking too! I emailed her back to clarify a few things cause most of her responses didn't really answer any of my questions... they were all really vague, lol! Still no details confirmed, so we wait some more :(

Hopefully you hear something soon!! :)

Ceremony (3-3:30) - 6 orange chair sashes the reserve seating for parents in the front row.

Cocktail hour (5-6) - guest book that I ordered online that is actually more like a photo book of us where people can write comments

Dinner (6-8) - instead of table numbers, we are going to have gold picture frames with the guests' photos inside the frame to show which table they are at. I also plan to bring plum tea candles, plum and diamond table confetti, fake orange lillies, and an orange lilly cake topper for the cake. Might also bring a microphone and mini speaker so people can do speeches in restaurant.

poolside reception (8-10) - I will probably just bring the guest book for those who havent signed it yet... i think we are renting lights with the speaker rental for ipod?

I just ordered more natural flowers (for around the gazebo) two hanging arrangements, a regular bouquet and lots of petals. Plus individual flowers for the chairs and we are just using the plain white chair covers that are included. I'm not using the red carpet in the gazebo because my bridesmaids are wearing light pink so we are using petals for the walkway. I specifically asked that NO fake flowers be at our event (because it's whats included).

I asked that these flower arrangements be transported to dinner and the reception site. I think I am going to do luggage tags for name tags on the dinner table. We have a signing frame for a photo instead of a guest book since we only have 25 people coming down.

I LOVE your luggage tag idea!

We are having about 50 people coming to our wedding.

Just an FYI I got everything sorted out so that our Canadian photographer can take photos. Crisis averted. I also clarified that at the legal wedding we can do our own vows and a poem (although she didn't clarify when in the ceremony, she did say the legal vows and our own vows could be said one-by-one). Our witnesses do not need to stand for the whole ceremony (so say I wanted my dad to be one) we could just call on that person from the crowd at the time of signing.

My wedding coordinator Maria pretty much told me not to listen to what's online. lol I guess different brides/different wedding coordinators end up with different information.

Maria has been really good so far (it takes a while because she's busy sometimes) but I've been firmed up on location for ceremony, reception and dinner and many of the details for months and months.

We are getting close we leave for the airport in 30 days 19 hours!

Yes they offer white sashes at ceremony for free - and colored ones you can rent. I am keeping all chairs plain, but buying 6 orange sashes for 6 seats as "reserved" in the front.... one for my dad, step mom, ring bearer, fiances mom and dad, and leaving an open chair for my mom who passed away 9 years ago... and then having each bridesmaid and myself leave an empty flower on the seat for my mom.

From Jazmin:
The sashes for the chairs included are white, but If wish to have another colors is possible, the cost is 4usd each (minimun 30 + 45usd per transfer & set up)

I am trying to get more information about the items listed in the Unforgettable Package (I am getting the things listed in the 2013 package).

1. Room Upgrade - can anyone clarify if this is just from the Junior Suite to the Royal Golden Section? (I'm in COBA)

2. Upgraded in-room amenities - What are these?

3. Romantic Candlelight Dinner with Reservation (has to be requested before arrival - which I did). How is this any different from a normal a-la-carte dinner?

4. Keepsake wedding souvenir? What is this?

5. Stress free Jacuzzi/bath in the room? Do they just fill my bathtub for me lol?

As for the gold bracelets we get, I asked Maria if this allows us unlimited a-la-carte dinners like I've read on the forums. She responded:

"You will have the Gold Brazalate, it is part of your wedding package and is for identify you as a wedding couple- VIP for us, but it no means unlimited a la carte dinners. You will receive a special amenities in your room, a nice location and if you wish an extra dinner a la carte you can book it if we have availability in the Restaurant of your prefference."

Does anyone know how many dinners I will get then? The wedding dinner counts as 1? I am just trying to figure it out..

The Royal Golden Section people get 4 a-la-cartes I think, we are staying 2 weeks, so that's 8, plus 1 extra used for the wedding dinner.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
