Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

So you have ceremony at 3 and dinner at 5:30 now? Jazmin wants me to do ceremony at 3, and dinner at 6! Since they said I can't do diner at 5:30, I'm going to try to see if 5 is available. I would rather eat at 5 than have my guests sit and wait around until 6.

I was informed that the Portofino now opens at 5:30. I'm not sure where you're having your dinner but It might not be open at 5.

What type of dress is everyone wearing fabric wise? I don't want chiffon, and prefer something more like a plain satin dress, but I heard satin is thick and heavy - and will most likely be too hot for my August Mexico wedding... What about silk? Or a silk-satin blend?

Thanks for the reply... I am going to either try to push for a 3:30 ceremony with a 6pm dinner ... Or a 3pm ceremony with a 5:30 pm dinner. Any advice on what I should say that could help me to get a decent time change? :( Currently I have 3pm ceremony and 6pm dinner :( :( :(

Hi there I just wondered if you can clarify Jazmin sent me an email asking for our 4 witnesses passports. Can the witnesses be my parents and my sister and brother in law all on my side or does the groom have to have 2 separate witnesses?

Also do they just scan and sent the copies in an email to her????

Thank you

I am looking to get some maracas whilst in mexico but I wanted some fans for the ladies at the ceremony has anybody found any cheap ones online

The witnesses can be anyone. On the form the WC sends it makes you list 2 has yours and 2 as his but it can all be from your family if you want. However, they have to stand up with you in front of everyone and witness the signing of the documents. It could make his family feel rejected if you use only your family members. I just used whoever from my family at first, but then I realized what the witness thing really means and changed it to both his parents and my own for equal representation. It would have bothered my mother in law otherwise. Just scan and send the copies to her.

Ok so my ceremony is at 3pm, dinner at 6pm...

I am bummed about this, because I dont want guests waiting around for a long time before dinner and poolside reception...

SO I was thinking...

Is it possible to do a cocktail hour to do speeches with some sort of little appetizers?

3:00-3:30pm ceremony

3:30-5:00pm pictures

5:00-6:00pm cocktails, appetizers, speeches?

6:00-8:00pm dinner

8pm-11pm poolside reception

*** I really wish I could move my ceremony up to 3:30 or dinner down to 5:30 :(

Any other suggestions?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
