Im a bit dissapointed that all guests have to have the same set menu.

I am also wondering if the reception after the meal can be extended till 11pm does anyone else know?

Thanks ladies

We're doing a poolside reception which was only supposed to run until 10 but they allowed us until 11. Could be different if it's in the restaurant though because if I'm not mistaken, I think they close at 10/10:30 for 'regular' dinners

Hello,

I have some concerns I need help sorting through.

I originally told the resort I wanted August 4, 2014 at 4pm at the tulum gazebo.... yet, they told me weeks later that now 4pm is not available so my ceremony is at 3pm.

**** Yet, the BIGGEST issue i am having is getting family to come. My grandma is really important to me, but she says she "will die" if she travels. She is 85 and her health has deteriorated in the past few years, but she lives alone and still drives. I think mostly she is making an excuse.... although i love my grandmother dearly, she is kind of a diva and wants me to have a traditional wedding in the catholic church with like over 100 people attending..... that is not what I want at all! I want sometime peaceful on the beach, and intimate with 50 people max!

I need some recommendations on convincing her to go.

thanks,

Kat

My grandma has congenital heart issues, but I did research and it seems that she may be ok to travel.... Also, my father, step mom, fiances parents, uncle and his girlfriend... among other close friends will all be there, and I'm sure will help her with her luggage and travel.

Soooo.... now how can I get her to attend the wedding? :(

We are bringing down a photographer for the whole week while were there and were not telling the resort. Our photographer is young enough that she'd be able to pass as a friend, and if they want to go ahead and "charge us" for they can but were not paying..its completley crazy that they can charge these outrageous prices if we don't like what they are doing.

I am getting soo frustrated with this resort it's unbelievable..I have threated to cancel already and our wedding is in May. Once they see that your about to cancel Paloma usually emails you..except this time is not the same..I emailed Maria back in June and I still have not gotten anything from her or Paloma, I now have our Travel Agent trying to get a response which also doesn't seem to be working. I'm giving it another month and If I don't hear from anyone than were going to cancel and go somewhere else causeI would like to start figuing out how much stuff is going to cost cause were in total Limbo! Every bride on here has a different answer!

Ugh, i hear ya! We did the same thing, and got our TA to contact the resort. She emailed Paloma to let her know that we were thinking of switching resorts due to frustration with no replies. I understand that the little details often do not get planned until way closer to the date and maybe even not until you get there, but right now we are 3.5 mths away and we have nothing reserved/booked except for our ceremony time (and even that was listed as a tentative time in her confirmation email). Paloma emailed our TA back within the same minute and said that we will be getting a reply asap and copied Eugenia on the email and told her to get in touch with us asap. This was early last week and still nothing from her...

Paloma also was like.... oh, i can see you do not have the updated packages so I will attach those for you... so we literally JUST got the up to date package prices last week. Up until then we had no idea what the prices of the packages even were or what they included (except for hearsay on this forum which seems to be different every time). We still have no idea about reception costs. Our TA emailed her contact at the resort again today and If we don;t hear from Eugenia by the end of the week we are going to start looking at different resorts.   I will for sure update on here as soon as I hear anything!! :)

They will charge you a fee for bringing a photographer into the resort..I have no idea how much they charge but I'm sure it's a lot...That is IF they will even let you..by the sounds of all these post I don't even see you being allowed to bring in an outside photographer anymore and your stuck with Areclife or family taking photos which is such bull.. Like I said were bringing in our own regarless and just passing her off as a friend to bypass the fee's and stuff cause I don't like the resort photos at all..

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
