Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had experience with getting makeup done at the resort salon? My WC is telling me that outside vendors for makeup are not allowed anymore.
omg really?? That really sucks because I've already paid my deposit for outside hair and makeup. How do they get away with changing the rules so much like this? Our wedding is less than 4 months away and between all changes to rules and the fact that they won't even reply to our emails to start planning, we are very close to talking to our TA about switching resorts

Hi Ladies so I sent Jazmin an email saying I wasnt happy about the new prices and that I had already paid the deposit for DJ Bob because I was told he was allowed.

I recieved a reply last night to say she had spoke to her manager and I am still allowed DJ Bob because I had paid the deposit and the bar options were as followed

$5 each for special cocktails and then $480 for the decoration and lounge seating

I haven't been able to get any pricing from her or any confirmation on anything other than our wedding date and time of day.

any tips?? anyone else dealing with maria?
i am trying to be patient and haven't sent that many questios but its 4.5 months away and we are trying to work out budgets and stuff.

I suggest being tough!!! I was seeing all the different procing that people are being quoted and I was starting to panick and we had paid the deposit for DJ Bob. I sent her an email saying we needed to know if the prices I was quoted 6mths ago were the same if not i wasnt going to be happy and if we wasnt allowed DJ Bob anymore we would seriously have to think about weather or not we still wanted the resort. THink this worked ..........

I think most of us felt your pain!! It took the resort a month and a half to confirm our wedding date alone - and that was with me emailing them constantly to follow up. Once I got a bit nasty, the responses came. Now we're 2 months away and Jazmin's on vacation?? Also, anyone bringing down their own photographer, they are not at all cooperative unless it is a minimum of 5 day stay. We have distant family members who are going to take our pics and they wanted us to pay Arrecife $400 because we originally planned on them coming for 4 days. I wonder if our parents will end up getting an invoice for snapping pictures at our wedding too lol

If you need any pricing, let me know and I'll try my best to help :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
