Does anyone know if you can arrange for fire lanterns on the beach? Or fireworks? Has anyone done a beachside wedding dinner? Is it easy to get transport to Playa del Carmen? A million questions-all help appreciated

Don't about the lanterns nor fireworks.

Beachside dinner is not available.  It's too windy you'd be eating sand and there's no lighting.

Transport to playa del Carmen is easy via taxi or colectivo.  You can read up on the official thread here: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/75549/official-gran-bahia-principe-riviera-maya-thread and I recommend doing some research on tripadvisor.

Good luck!

Hi everyone,

Going back through the info, it seems everyone suggests paying for the cheaper poolside bar as you will likely receive access to the full bar anyway.

Has anyone paid for the cheaper bar and actually been denied the selected drinks (rum, vodka, tequila, etc)?

I've been quoted $3100 vs $1550 USD (max 60 ppl) so obviously I'd like to pay less but am nervous about this. Thoughts?

I've been wondering the exact same thing, so thank you for posting this. I think it's ridiculous that at an all inclusive they are charging us in addition to what we paid for the vacation for free drinks....makes no sense at all and seems like a total money grab. We are planning to pay for just the basic bar and are hoping they have everything, but I, too, would love to hear from other brides who paid for just the basic bar.

All the sections of the hotel can be walked to very easily, there are buggies that run continually between them if it is too warm to walk.  Akumal > Tulum the best route is along the beach, Coba is in land so take the paths - you will see plenty nature..  Sian Kian however is beside the golf course on the other side of the motor way so you need to take a buggy.

Hi Alan

Congrats on getting your date set - wooo hoo :)   Add it to the dates thread so you can see who / if anyone will be there the same time as you.

Its great to come across a fellow Scot on here.  I would like to say this should not be an issued with your piper - assuming they will be a guest booked on the holiday with you anyway.  As long as a guest no problem however from reading this and other threads if you bring n outside suppliers you have to pay a day pass for them.

Happy planning, if there is anything you want to ask just holler.  We are just back from our wedding at Tulum Gazebo - A M A Z E B A L L S thewave.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
