Yup, there is always a little corner of it, and the main "theme" of the buffet switches nightly, but it's not the same at all three buffets.  So you'd be able to find mexican food pretty easily.

At the buffets there is usually a section dedicated to traditional Mexican food... sometimes you have to search for it... But always fresh guacamole, salsa, and then usually quesadillas and other good stuff!  The buffets are so large sometimes it can be easy to miss.

Hey Everyone!

I am officially starting to freak out about the wedding! It is coming up is just over a month!

Does anyone know on how the grooms are being wrangled to the  ceremony site? Was there transportation or did they have to make their way on their own?

Also does anyone know about if the entire groups rooms are all together or spread out?

I would like to do my prep for the day of in my mom's room so there is no accidental encounters...is anyone bringing down their own champange to toast with before hand? 30$ per bottle for sparkling wine seems a little steep!

Last Question (Well for this post), when are you planning on handing out your gift bags? I am putting a day program in them ahead of time so that everyone know where and when and I can focus on getting married, not helping people!

THANKS!

We haven't been to the resort yet, our date is still 9 mths away, so I can't help you with your first questions. But as for the gift bags, we are planning on mailing out a info/welcome brochure with timelines of events, etc and luggage tags a couple of weeks before we leave. Then we are planning on having a welcome dinner in one of the buffets the evening after we arrive to hand out gift bags. This is assuming that our WC will set up some tables for us in the buffet to do it.

First, don't freak.  I promise you that everything will go wonderfully and you're freaking for no reason.  Just be excited!!

Grooms.  They can be picked up in the trolley car prior to it getting you, or they can choose to walk.  It'll depend on your photographer too.  For instance, when I photograph weddings at the GBP, I take pictures of my grooms ahead of time, so it makes more sense for us to walk to the ceremony ourselves.  It allows for great pictures of the groom with his groomsmen.

The entire group will be spread out, but they do try to keep them within a few buildings of each other.  It's nice to have some privacy, yet not have to walk all over the place.

I have had brides who went to Walmart in Playa and had their own champange to toast with beforehand.  I've also had a lot of my brides have it in their room as a present from the resort.

For guests that are arriving at the same time as you, I'd hand them out then.  Otherwise have a welcome dinner at the buffet on the first or second night and hand them out there.

I was planning to have a trial done here and then take a picture down with me, but I wanted to have my extensions put in, so I def need a stylist who has experience with that?

Hi Nic817,

I used the resort for myself and 4 of my bridesmaids and they did a fantastic job! Just bring down pictures for them to reference. I used extensions and so did my maid of honor and they had no problem putting them in.

Hope this helped.

Tracy.

This may be a weird question but for former guests at the bahia, do you know if they allow people to use their own travel mugs for drinks? My fiance's parents always take these when they go to all inclusives because it keeps the drinks colder and you don't have to go back as often. We were thinking of getting a set personalized as our wedding favours and giving them to guests before we go. I just wanted to make sure they are allowed before we spend that money...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
