Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Wanted to share our wedding favor idea for those who have not decided yet..

We are going to give each couple/single a bottle of tequila. Figured it goes with the theme and it's something our guest will actually enjoy (I was never one to use personalized shot glasses from people's weddings haha). To serve double duty, we are also using the favor tags as a seating chart.

Hope that helps :)

Seems kind of silly to me though.. what if by the poolside reception area isn't available and we already paid for the trip (and we don't want to do semi private).

Have you given them your booking number and it's still not confirmed? I'm sure it will all come together :)

She has confirmed my location and given me my wedding coordinator.  I have Maria but I am still waiting on an email back to confirm the pool side reception.  We are still working stuff out with westjet too so we don't have a booking number.  I was pretty pushy with her not to be mean but I am not booking my wedding somewhere to find out I am not going to get the location or reception I want.   The tequilla sounds fun!!! :)

Hi,

Sorry - haven't been on here in a few days. We are going with maracasmexico. The email is [email protected]. They quoted us for 25 maracas (we are giving 1 per person) that are handpainted and a tag that says "shake at the kiss".

We have been quoted $115 US + delivery (which will come to approx $90) so about $200 total.

I hope that helps, Miriam x

Oh me cant believe I am having 2nd and 3rd thoughts now with 17 weeks to go ........

Can any bride that booked a local photographer to do their wedding photos let me know how much the Bahia Principe charged for a day pass.   Thinking about getting local rather than Arrecife  . . . HELP!

Many thanks in advance

Kirstin X

Gotcha! Maybe I should start being a little more persistent too!! Word of advice, get multiple quotes from Westjet.. I think we have 6 or 7 now because they came back each time with a different rate - all way more than what we were hoping for. Finally got one today that's $350 less per person than all other previous quotes (for the same week mind you). Makes NO sense. There's a girl named Tracy that we dealt with who gave us the best price.

It is making me a bit nervous.

Get used to it - the communications aren't the best. Still waiting on tons of confirmation. I have just started to chill out about it though - better than get stressed. We aren't doing the pool side party as are just going to do the Mexican fiesta party as ours is on a thurs.

You cannot hire local, you'd have to fly in a photographer.

You can have your photographer stay at a different hotel (for an $800 day pass), however they cannot be a local riviera mayan professional photographer.

We got really lucky our first quote was awsome!  We booked from 4 different cities (Edmonton, Calgary, Regina, and Grande Prairie) and it was all under $1200 for 7 days flight and everything included with Westjet.  I was so nervous because we requoted yesterday as we needed to add 10 more people from Edmonton bringing our total up to 30 out of Edmonton and everything came back the same within a few dollars.  I am pretty excited to be done with all the quote, requoting!  I hope you get lucky like we did! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
