Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I am hoping someone can help me... approx how long does it take  to walk from the trees to the  akumal beach ceremony site?  We are trying to figure out if the groomsmen should 'share' a song with the groom/his parents or have their own song . Also does someone 'work' the CD player- eg stop songs and start the next or do you have to let the songs play all the way through?

Thanks!

I could have sworn I posted this earlier but I don't see it so here it is again..

If you haven't ordered your invitations yet, definitely check out Custom Party Place!!! I just got my proofs back for Passport Wedding invites and boarding pass rsvp cards and they are awesome!! Ilene was amazing to work with - quick responses (something I'm not used to haha), very creative and super patient - I must've made 20 changes before I signed off on the final one.

Here's the link for her Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Custom-Party-Place/124492324242984?fref=ts

Hope this helps,

J

Hi all, very close to booking a wedding at Gran Bahia Principe Tulum for Feb 2014. Would love to hear any thought you can offer. We are looking for a family friendly environment and a resort that is fair priced. We hope to balance both these things with a dream wedding day. Thanks in advance for any info as I scour this forum.

Hi Tammy,

I got ahold of them in the end. We got our menus too. Was it you who said that you are having the reception at frutos del mar? We just weren't clear if we had to pick the meal or if our guests can just from the menu we got once we select the restaurant. Let me know if you know.x

The walk is longer, but not a whole song long.  I think sharing a song would be fine.  My husband shared a song with our bridal party.  We had four groups in the bridal party.

Thanks! Do you know if there is someone that can start and stop the songs? or does the cd just play through?

I think this will be the plan for the songs;

Groomsmen (2 or 3) then Groom and his parents. These groups will share a song.

Bridesmaids (3)

ME!

Recessional

We are not sure if we want music to play when the guests are arriving/ being seated.  I think it might be good to start the music and have the groomsmen start coming and this will tell guests that the ceremony is starting and to sit down!

I know I want to walk down to Canon in D.  We like the Israel K..... version of somewhere over the rainbow, and the
'feather song' by  Alan Silvestri (kinda girly, so prob for the BMs).

It depends if your group is more than 30 people.  More than 30, you get one choice, less than 30 you get two choices off the menu and you have to decide in advance.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
