Trisha, do you remember how many months prior to the wedding did the WC confirm for you that you can have the poolside reception and its location?

When I was married in May there were two poolside repecptions in the Akumal side of the resort. Our was at the main pool and the othe at the activity pool. I can confirm that they can accommodate more than one poolside reception on the Akumal side per night. Not sure about Coba & Tulum

Thank you so much for that confirmation from the Akumal side!!!  There are plenty of pools, so I'm sure it can be done at all three resorts.

 

Fernando is the only one that I've worked with.  He'll send someone else for hair though. 

 

I confirmed the poolside reception probably 7-8 months before my wedding?  I never confirmed a restaurant, because I wanted it all outside.

Thanks! I'm going to contact my travel agent again tonight, and hopefully get something from her. She hasn't introduced me to the WC yet, which she told me she would do about 2 weeks ago. So I'm going to try and push her a little more so I can email Paloma or Jazmin myself. I feel like I'll be a happier bride-to-be once I have the dinner and reception confirmed. Everything else becomes so much easier, I feel.

I confirmed my restaurant 2 weeks ago I think and I'm getting married beginning of August.

That's a fair question that I don't know the answer to!  One of the questions you should ask almost all vendors though is if they run the operation by themselves, or if they send people to represent their company.  Many people get burned that way, so it's a good question to ask.

 DJ Bijan is the only DJ at Mayan Vibes.  So far he has been awesome at responding to my emails.  I want to book him, but I am just waiting for Maria/Paloma to confirm my request for a pool side reception.

I didn't bother waiting for the confirmation from the WC on the poolside reception. I'm going to trust that they will find a way to accommodate, especially when we have to pay extra for it. I sent my deposit to DJ Bob, cause he said there was someone else requesting for same day. I didn't want to take the chance.

 

You ladies think it's a gutsy move without the resort confirming the poolside reception?

I'd be interested to know if everyone thinks that is gutsy or not too...It will help me decide if I should put down the deposit down before hearing from Maria.

 

DJ Bijan said he would hold the date for me until Dec 31 without me having to put down a deposit (which is sooo nice).  So I have some time to think about it...

Just recieved my first email from eugenia, I was getting worried as I have 5 months to go and didnt have anything confirmed I was set on having dolce vita for our meal but after recieving the menu have opted for frutos del mar did anyone else choose it and what was it like? Also did any of you have the chocolate wedding cake Im not sure which cake to have.
