Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

We are having a symbolic ceremony...does anyone know if we can write our own ceremony script? Christy12's comment about how religious her ceremony was is scaring me.... plus I was just reading a thread on here about ceremony scripts....so many were so simple, yet beautiful!  thanks in advance!

Just a quick question for all you past brides... we booked with Transat Holidays, and our travel agent said the the flight schedules don't come out for a few more months so the dates could change by up to 2 or 3 days. If we reserve a date with the resort, are they pretty accommodating if you have to move the actual wedding date due to a change in flight departure? The date that we requested to hold with the resort is the 14th of Jan, but if the flights don't end up leaving until the 13th or something, would they change the wedding date for us?

Thanks!

Liz :)

Hey Igerry,

We flew air transat & our departure date didn't change out Edmonton but for our guests flying out of Calgary it was moved forward a day. It was pretty frustrating because our calgary guests would have had to leave the day after the wedding. We ended up moving our wedding back a day and resort was really accommdating to the change. The changes to departure times happened around September/October and nothing changed after that.

We also didn't receive our official itinerarys until about 3 months before we left, so be paitent!

Happy planning!

Thanks! :) Ya our travel agent told us the same thing with regards to the dates possibly changing and when to expect the changes, and we're all good with it. Just wanted to make sure the resort would be cool with it too. Sounds like they are pretty accommodating so thats great to hear!

I'm glad my pictures of the jacuzzi pool reception make you happy and excited!!

If you're a Tulum bride, I'm not sure if you'd be able to have a jacuzzi pool reception, as there aren't any in that area.  They are only in the Akumal and Coba sections.

AndreaandAaron, I have heard of many brides writing their own script, or even having their own family and friends marrying them when they have a symbolic ceremony.

What false information did they give you?  You can still have a poolside reception at Akumal, and perhaps they'll even let you have it at whatever pool you want.  I'm not the deciding factor, just trying to help along the way.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
