Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have a different email or contact for the resort wedding department other than groupsmx@bahia-principe.com? We are meeting with our travel agent tomorrow to put our deposits down and I have been trying to get through to the resort to make sure they have availability at the hammocks location for the week we're booking, but have not gotten a response back yet.

We had our dinner in the Italian. Unfortunately, they would not bring in speakers and a mic for us to use. At first I was upset by this, fortunately we were the only ones in the restaurant for most of the dinner. We had someone do introductions when the bridal party entered the restaurant. we also had my father do his speech along with the maid of honor and best man. We decided to leave any other speeches to the pool side reception. In the end something I was very worried about worked out.

@ Trisha: Do you remember rooughly how much you paid for the extra flower decorations you had at your ceremony... hanging off the hammocks? I remember you mentioned that they would bring that to your dinner and decorate with them too. So I wanted to know how much the resort would be charging. If it's too much, maybe to look for another florist.

Hi guys,

I'm pretty new to this website but I've been avidly perusing everyone's comments and suggestions about the resort and how their weddings have turned out! It is a little hard planning something from so far away so I was wondering if you could help me with some of the wedding planning I'm having issues with! I'm getting married at the Tulum Gazebo and staying at Coba. We're going to be a fairly small group, 16-17 people max, and wanted to know where to have the reception. We want it to be private and intimate but at the same time fun and enjoyable. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Thanks!

The extra flowers were $35 or $45.  Not bad at all (but I chose flowers that were shown inside the flower catalog).

MayanBride, it's up to you.  Do you want to pay extra for the private reception, or is a secluded area in a restaurant with probably 30-45 minutes of it to yourself enough?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
