yes that is correct ;) the only problem is you cant substitue the cost of the legal fees. so you still pay the full price of the package even though you are not using thier minister. its exactly what we did and we were married 2 weeks prior to our trip back home in our backyard

Hi Tammy Eugina is my WC too,  I havent heard from her since September when we first booked holiday and wedding via First Choice/Thomson.  We are there 10 - 24 June - getting married on 20 June.  She said she would be back in touch 4 months prior but I am impatient so emailed her today to ask for the flower, wedding cake and restaurant options.

Hope you find this forum as helpful as I do.

Tammy from recollection reading on here somewhere  Arrecife only keep the photos for 1 year.  We have booked the Sunshine package with First Choice/Thomsons so get 10 photos in that package and have booked to get an additional 50 photos.    In case you didnt know the photos in the packages are only of the actual cermony.

Hey Andrea and worst bride dont fret it will all come right in the wash.  Im not sure if things are handled differently depending on where you are from and how you book your holiday and wedding.  Im in Scotland and booked our holiday and wedding in May this year, had a couple of emails from Eugina my WC to confirm wedding location, time and date but havenot heard from her since September and she said it would be 4 months before wedding (20 June 2013) that she would be back in touch.  I want to sort my flowers, cake and restaurant so emailed her today but dont expect a fast reply.

Having holidayed at the hotel twice before I know from seeing more than 1 wedding per day so appreciate and understand how busy the WC are and they work with the bookings in chronological order,

You will read on here that past brides had the same frustrations but as their time came closer it all worked well and their reviews also say that all things worked out.    I know its easier said than done but it will all fall into place

New brides to the forum there is a page called "post your wedding date" - link is http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/9132/post-your-wedding-date/610#post_1814381

Add your details to it.  Its good to see if anyone will be there at the same time as you.  I know from here that some brides from US and Canada have then split costs for photographer when dates close together.   Hope this helps you

Hi Claruickie,

I had the same problem as you Thomas Cook kept telling me I need documents translating and apostilled etc and were even sending me the companies info where i needed to send my birth certificate, passports etc. It was going to work out at about £200 to get it done but my WC Jasmin was telling me no need. I researched it by scouring the internet which backed up what Jasmin was telling me. Basically, what is required varies between states and for Quintana Roo you only have to supply documents if you have been divorced, you were adopted or have changed your name for some reason. None of these applied to us so we didn't take anything. I think I drove Jasmin mad checking though...I must have asked her the same question about 4 times because I didn't want anything to get lost in translation, to get the wrong end of the stick and be in trouble when I got to the resort. A lot of the confusion is because the requirements are subject to change at anytime and actually changed earlier this year. Prior to this change you had to get translations etc which is why the travel agents are still recommending this.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
