The Tulum gazebo looked the best from the pictures I had seen so far, so I think I would prefer that over the Tulum beach, just because the beach location seemed a little too plain for my liking. Thanks for all your comments here. I noticed that you went back a couple pages to reply to everyone's posts! And super glad to hear that you had an amazing wedding! Congrats again! :)

I know I said I would not write a review until i have got over the jetlag and I have been on here ages anyway. It is so strange to be the one in the know answering other peoples questions. I found this site so helpful that I want to help others out on here hence why I have tried to go back and answer a few questions for people. I will get some pics on at the weekend so you can see more of the gazebo.

I got in touch about 10 months before our wedding and the restaurant and location we wanted was only available on certain dates. I don't know how it works in Canada but I am from England and I booked and paid for the wedding package through our travel agent. They then contacted the hotel to sort out a date which was emailed to us early Feb 2012 along with an email from the WC with initial info required regarding documents etc. From then on I was directly in contact with Jazmin and actually bought the wedding date forward 2 days once she gave me further info regarding ceremony location/dinner location (which I had to request). So by the end of Feb I had sorted the date, wedding location and dinner location and times (9 months before the wedding). Everything else gets sorted as we went along. she emailed me cake brochure, flower brochures, poolside reception info and answered many other questions as and when i requested but i normally had to ask before she sent me anything and then wait a few weeks for a response. Don't worry, our WC was brilliant...they are only slow because they are so busy. You will realise this when you are in resort and see how many weddings they have to organise. They have meetings with couples in the mornings to discuss weddings then usually have multiple weddings every day. They don't just make the arrangements for you either they are with you on the day. Jasmin was part of our ceremony along with the registrar, they take you to the locations for dinner and reception etc. You really do realise when you see them in action why they have little time to email people. They will get back to you though so hold in there.

Thank you! That makes me feel better! I will try to get my dinner time confirmed- the restaurant location has already been confirmed.  I want a pool side reception, but haven't actually requested one...I will do that as well.  Do you know if  the pool side reception always available? or can it get booked up?

You're a star! Yeah.. I'm always on the forum looking for ideas and information. It helps me refocus my energy so I don't freak out with the lack of responses from the WC, and I totally understand where they're coming from. My TA just spoke to me and told me they usually work on 3 month intervals and said that they will generally handle all brides that have wedding within the next 3 months before focusing on the other brides. So I'm just going to do some other digging around the forum for other ideas and start with the ceremony script and vows. THAT is going to take me forever!

Nice!  Do you order them individually?  Did you order everything through Marvin? (centrepieces, bouquets and boutonnieres) Did your package through the resort come with a bride's bouquets/ centrepiece etc?  Are you just forgoing those items or did you work someone out with your wedding planner?  Is marvin dropping off the flowers to the resort? Sorry for the 1 million questions! And thanks again!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
