Ya - defo email him - He's off and on about getting back to you quickly. Usually he's pretty good (replies within a couple days) - but Ive heard some brides have had issues.

Yes - sent him pics of exactly what I wanted..and told him "This is exactly what I want" - lol - He actually had some of the exact flowers on hand at the time and made a sample and took a pic and sent it to me - and it was perfect! yay!

I realize I am getting married in a year but I can't get these people to answer me at all. Did they make you wit too three months befor the wedding befor they started the planning? I feel like there are 8 milliion things to do that I can't make happen until I know what we are doing for reception and flowers and ceremony place etc.

Has anyone else been dealing with this and can someone please tell me what the time lines were like?

Have no fear - you have lots of time. I understand how frustrating it can be because you just want to get stuff planned. I was the same way. I got engaged 18 months beforehand- ha ha - and now just a few days out!

The wedding co-ordinators are SO busy - they have an average of 2-3 weddings/day at the resort so they're focusing their attentions on the more current brides.

My suggestion is just email your questions...and Jazmin will get back to you. Sometimes not for a few weeks but she will. She did for me anyway.  As hard as it is - just try and be patient. Don't worry - once you've chosen your ceremony and reception locations - the rest of the details are pretty minor. And A LOT of your questions can actually be answered on here too. This forum thread has been a  HUGE help for me.

And feel free to ask any of us current brides for updated info! I know i'm happy to answer anything I can!

I was only concerned because I have been told two different locations and that had a barring on some other things I wanted. I am definitly using this to my advantage as well as some other Akumal threads. Eugenia is my WC... and I did give her three weeks to confirm which location.

Doesn't matter I sent a bit of an angry email yesterday and got a response right away. Not that I want to have to be like that. Anyway. All is well. I am going to try and book the salon today.

I loved the hammock location. There are rocks where the water breaks right in front if you and it's just gorgeous. Plus it's "private" since you can't swim at that part of the beach. However, it is very windy. I did not wear my veil due to the wind, and I had to have my hair up. But I'm not sure if the other locations are too much less windy?

The dinner in the restaurant is semi private. For usually at least a half an hour, if not longer you'll be the only ones in there, so that's really nice. For me, having an outdoor reception under the stars was the only thing I wanted. Being overly type a, I knew there was a rain backup location if need be,,, but I put in an order for a gorgeous sunny day on my wedding day, so all was good :)

I did a similar thing. Set things up before hand, took photographs and took them with me. Then explained everything to Jazmin at our meeting (second day in resort) showing her the photographs and everything was set up perfectly. If there is too much for her and her assistant Carla to do (if Jazmin is your WC), they will ask for you to send someone to help them. My mum popped over to the restaurant to check that everything was laid out OK and it was. I used my favours as centrepieces. I had little buckets containing chocolates that looked like pebbles on a tray covered in sand and small shells to go along with the beach-side wedding.

Our wedding location was at the gazebo and we didn`t find it too windy. There was a light breeze though, which we found very refreshing. I had a fingertip veil and didn`t notice it blowing in my face at all. It was a heavier veil that had crystals throughout as well, so that made a difference.

I got married in the Gazebo and the wind was not too bad but got a bit tousled up during the photos on the beach and have a few flyaways on the photos. Most days during our holiday were windy when on any part of the beach. Glad I went with an up do and no veil.

Hi All,

Got back yesterday from a fabulous 2 weeks in GBP. After having quite a few worries, our wedding day was absolutely perfect. Loved every second. I promise to write a review when I don't feel so jetlagged and will get a few piccies up for people to see. But just rest assured that the resort is fantastic and you are in good hands for your wedding (we had Jazmin and her assistant Carla at Tulum section). There are so many weddings at this resort that you can see why they are so good at what they do.

Fantastic holiday and the wedding I always wished for...I really didn't want to come home.

That's very true. I guess it was a risk we had to take deciding on a destination wedding anyways. I'm still trying to decide which location to have the ceremony, and seeing your pictures, Trisha, is pushing me back towards the hammock now. The extra flower arrangements REALLY added to it and makes it look so much nicer.

Oh, for the set up of decorations that you bring yourself, does the resort charge you extra to set these up for you?

They did not charge us. Jazmin (our WC) did say that if there was too much to do then you may need to nominate people to help out but her and her assistant did everything we asked them.

Oh gosh. I think I'm getting married at the gazebo, and I was considering a half-do with a veil. Now I'm not too sure. I haven't purchased my dress yet, so maybe the dress will not look good with a veil anyways, but I do really want one. You girls think it's a little too windy there for it?

@ Fraggle42, congrats on your recent wedding! Can't wait to see your pictures and your review.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
