Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi Mexican Bride our wedding is booked for a 4pm service too, the sand isnt too hot so bare feet will be ok, this is what my bridesmaids are planning on.   Flip flops take a wee bit of getting used to the toe post - its the same with any new shoes.

All the best with your planning

Thanks AD2012 we were looking online & a few people had said that the reservation were 10pm onwards!!

At 4pm the sand won't be too hot, especially in February!

Flip flops will flip sand up... mostly in your dress... where you will have sweaty legs, thus sticking to your legs.  It doesn't happen to everyone, but the chances are very good.

So, I'd err on the side of caution and perhaps provide OFF wipes?  Easy to pack and easy to use.

Oh no we are going in November and mosquites love my hubby to be and he has quite bad reactions to them. Hope he doesnot  have nasty bites for our wedding photos. What repellants do people recommend available in the UK or in resort?

@Fraggle42

We found the Avon Skin So Soft "Woodland Fresh" spray or body lotion (pale green bottle) worked great for most of us.  For those that were bitten they put TCP or Vick vapour rub on the bites and the itch vanished.

Hi

Can somone PLEASE help me?

I am renewing my wedding vows in 3 weeks time at GBP and have been emailing Jazmin Ortiz at the resort for the last 6-8 weeks with no reply!

Do I have the right email address: [email protected]

I am asking about using a sand ceremony and whether we need to bring any wording for it amongst other things.

Someone please help. I'm starting to panic now!

Thank you

Ps. For the bride asking abouting footwear for the sand, I am having barefoot sandels. Very pretty but without the 'flip' 'flop' .cheesy.gif

First off, Tink, I'll be there during your vow renewals!  How fun!  I'll have to lurk and see if I can catch a peek!

Sand ceremony, definitely bring your own wording.

For us, we had the Rascall Flatts song Bless the Broken Road as our sand ceremony song... so this was our wording.  We had my aunt read it.

There is a song that speaks of “a long and winding road†and before you met, your lives were on such a road... each going in different directions and seemingly leading to different destinations. But somewhere along the way you took a fork in the road to a destination called “love†and today you find yourselves standing together at the entrance of a new path that will join your once separate journeys into one.

Before each of you there is a container of sand. Each container represents the separate journeys you once were on. They also represent your own sets of friends and families that once were apart. I will ask that in a moment you both blend your individual container of sand together... representing the coming together of your friends and family, through your marriage, into one. And as the sand is blended into one container, your once solitary journeys will now be one of companionship, as you walk a single path together into your future.

As the sand has blended together, your lives are now joined. Your friends and family are as one as well, for now you will share those who are in your lives and will walk hand-in-hand along the path of your marriage - united and strong as husband and wife.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
