Or has anyone had the poolside reception with less than 40 people and still paid per person? Also if there were children there did you have to pay the same price for them even though they aren't drinking alcohol?? Has anyone from UK thats getting married later in the year been quoted per person for a group of less than 40? Sorry for all the questions I'm starting to panic a little now!!

Has anyone used the dolphinarium on site?

Thanks guys for all the information you keep putting up and the reviews its keeping my mind at rest at least knowing that everything seems to work out well in the end.x

So I had over 40 people, but how I understood everything, it didn't matter the number of guests on the price.

We had 4 children in our group, and no we did not have to pay for them for the poolside reception. We just made sure that Eugenia knew that we had kids in the mix from the beginning.

I personally didn't use the dolphinarium, but my cousins (2 adults and 2 kids) did while we were there and they loved it! They got some great photographs and said that it was totally worth the cost and then time it took to do it.

Again, hope it helps.

Did anyone miss having a dance floor at their reception?  It is terribly expensive to rent through the resort so FI and I decided not to have one.

Did any guests comment or did they just have fun dancing by the pool and jumping in at the end of the night? :)

Is the Tulum poolside reception close enough to the beach where people could dance in the sand if they wanted to?

Our poolside reception is scheduled from 9-11, did brides with the same time frame feel like that was enough time for dancing?

Thanks!

We had the same amount of time at our reception and it was over way tooo fast! We had asked Jazmin if we could extend it later and were told the latest was 11. It was fun but it was hard to get everything in. We didn't have time at dinner to do the cake cutting so we did it at the reception, first dances & bouquet and garter toss left little time for dancing.

If you can have it start earlier I would suggest you do that or see if you have any luck extending your reception past 11.

the hotel rooms being so close to the reception area is why they won't let it go past 11, which I can understand.  But maybe you can start earlier.  Your dinner is at 6:30, right?  That got moved up?  So maybe have them extend the reception 30 minutes too?

And definitely TRY to do the cake cutting and speeches during dinner.  You might not be able to sneak it in, but I'd plan for that so you have more time to shake your tail feather.

Yeah, I can tell you, no matter what time you start it'll be too short.  The day just flies by.  That's why it's so important to take some time out to just relish in the fact that you're MARRIED!!!!  Just enjoy the day as much as you can!

We had a poolside dinner and reception and it was still too short.  I could have stayed out there forever!  Although it helped that I had a 7am trash the dress the next day.  That enticed me to go to bed :)

I only had a two hour poolside reception, from 8-10. I thought it was long enough. We did the first dance and quick boquet toss then just danced. We only had 26 people, after two hours I was ready to get out of my dress so I was thankful. We changed and half our group went to th hacienda until 2:30 am or so. I thought it was lots of fun there. If you go though remember it is a crowded club, don't recommend whereing your dress.

Shellee,

After 8 weeks, Maria finally emailed me back! I had forgotten what I had asked her, lol! She apologized for the long delay in response and stated that she has been SWAMPED with weddings (just as Yeemein said). I hope you have gotten a response from her as well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
