The wedding coordinator set up our entrance.  We hid by the bar and then they said our names and we entered.  It was nice.

 

As for customs.  It is $300.  Not sure what she was talking about. Perhaps pesos?

One or more duty free goods which value may be proved with the invoice or note of sale and do not exceed $300 U.S. dollars or its domestic or foreign equivalent when the entry is by air or maritime transport or $50 U.S. dollars when the entry is by land. Alcoholic beverages, beer, manufactured tobaccos, cigarettes or automotive fuel may not be introduced within these exemptions.

For everyone else that is wondering about other restrictions...  I have in bold the restrictions for photographers... for those of you using inexperienced ones:

 

Luggage: Used or new goods for personal use such as clothing, footwear, and personal hygiene items that reasonably respond to the duration of the trip and that due to its quantities may not be used for commercial purposes; one photographic camera and one video camera, and its power supply; up to 12 rolls of film or videotapes; filmed or developed photographic material; one mobile phone and one pager; one typewriter; one used or new laptop, notebook, omnibook or similar portable computer; one used or new portable copying machine or printer; two portable used personal sports gear; one portable radio/CD player; 5 laser disks, 5 DVD, 20 compact disks (CD) or tapes; books and magazines that due to its quantities may not be used for commercial purposes; 5 toys, which can be normally transported by a person; medicines for personal use, provided that prescription must be submitted for psychotropic drugs; one set of binoculars; one portable musical instrument; one tent and one camping equipment; one surfing board or one windsurf board; and 4 fishing rods and its accessories.

My fiance and I are planning to bring music with us to give to the resort DJ for our reception.  Did anyone else do this?  Did you use CDs or hand him an iPod?

Was he good about mixing your music with the other music he played and did he play music that kept all your guests dancing?

Maria1301, we hired DJ Bijan and he was amazing! Highly recommended!!! We walked passed a few pool parties after our wedding and all used resort DJ and hope this doesn't offend anyone, but I found their music really boring and didn't see many people dancing at all. If you use the resort DJ, definitely recommended to give him some CD's or an iPod. Good Luck!

We just got back last month and the customs card has been updated. The Max amount is still $300 but the quantities have increased. It's two cameras now. I think it really depends on your group... I used the resort DJ and can say that he played a great mix of music that got everyone in our group dancing - young to old, country fans to techo fans. We made multiple requests through the night and he played all of them - he even found and downloaded a song he didn't have for us. We did have a couple of special songs that we had on our ipods just for ease of use (our first dance, father/daughter, mother/son, etc) and we just gave him the ipod and he played those straight from there. Like I said, we all had a great time and no complaints for the resort DJ

Oh good, glad to hear the resort DJ worked out! Maybe the pool parties we saw were just low key parties. We just had such a great experience with DJ Bijan that I want to pass the experience along. Half of our group are not dancing type people and he managed to play all the right music to keep everyone on the dance floor - including my mother which I have NEVER seen dance! AMAZING! For 3 hours we paid $450CAD and $90USD for the day pass.

Hey,

 

Thanks for all that info so IF i have 48 of luffas, chapstick, mini floaties, hand sanitizer, shot glasses, mentos, and tissue packs do you suggest i split all that up between 4-5 people? Do I declare all of this? This is super confusing so your help is amazing.

Tough to say.  I had an entire suitcase which as only out of town bag supplies... so 35 cups, beach balls, lotions, lip balms, etc... but I also didn't hit a red light!  My husband, parents, and myself had a deal.  We'd approach the light as a group and set that bag in the front (but not obviously).  If the first person hit the green button, they casually would grab it.  If they hit red, they'd leave it.  And so on.  We all got green, so it was never an issue.  But I would not want to deal with Mexican customs, that's for sure!
