Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I am having a photographer / resort issues.

I was told by the hotel their day pass for vendors is $90. I have booked a photographer outside from the hotel for our wedding photos. I just received an email from the resort photographer stating that NO outside photographers or videographers are allowed! Is there not a way around this?? Has anyone found a way around it??

What if my photographer is a 'guest' at our wedding who happens to be have awesome equipment...can they really say anything?

Any suggestions or advice would be really helpful.

Thank you so much in advance.

Girling, you cannot have a local wedding photographer.  You will need to fly someone in for your wedding.

I believe there have been some brides who have gotten away with a $500 fee to bring in local photographers, but they really seem to be in forcing the NO portion of that statement.

So if you want a photographer, you will have to pay for them to stay three nights at the resort as a guest.

Tlseege is correct....the vendor fee is for other outside vendors like Hair/Makeup, DJs...etc
Photographers do not apply to the $90 fee. I was looking into the same thing..hiring a photographer from PDC but my travel agent stopped me in my tracks.
If you're stuck in a contract with your photographer the only way around it is if you book him/her into the resort for 3 nights. Thats the only way unfortunately.
If you're able to break your contract with the one you booked it may be cheaper to hire one from home and bring them down with the rest of your guests.

Hi Girls

I leave on Sun and sooooooo excited.... a few last questions

Flowers, I have a few pics of bouquets I like, shall I just take the pics over and see which they can do/

Vows, I am really struggling to find vows for a sand ceremony to do with our children, all wording relates to children from previous relationships and the joining of their new family. These are our 2 children. Will the minister have some wording I can maybe choose?

Congrats!! Not going to lie...I kind of thought you had to have all your flowers ordered by now...like long before now. Your WC should have sent you a catalogue brochure of choices..

Maybe they do things different at Akumal. I hope its not too late for you to order

not sure about the wording for your ceremony - I'm struggling with that also

Oh no...... :( Never even recieved the brochure from them, I got it from someone on here! They have'nt been very good at communication at all! I e mailed her Sun and still waiting for a reply, It has took over 3 weeks before to get a reply but seen as though I leave Sun I thought she may be a bit quicker!

I would send her an email with photos of what you would like to do she should be able to tell you if those flowers are available etc. It's shouldn't be too late but I wouldn't risk providing that information at your meeting in the event that they're not available or they cost a lot.  I emailed Jazmin about changing my flowers and she was quick to repsond saying whether they weren't available in that area. I think availability is the big thing.

I wouldn't worry about it too much unless you're really picky about flowers! I had about 6 different pictures of bouquets that I showed Jasmin at our meeting 2 days before the wedding. She pointed out which ones they could do that woudn't cost extra and I picked one of those.

If you post the pictures on here, I'm pretty sure myself and the other previous brides could probably tell you which ones would be included.

But overall, you shouldn't have a problem.  You don't have to pick out everything in advance, just if you want certain colors or styles.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
