Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Ladies, I need your advice! FI and I were thinking about doing our stag in Mexico and going on a pub crawl since majority of our wedding guests are coming from different areas of Canada and the US. BUT since that whole mexico incident, I'm not quite sure if that's the best idea. What do you guys think??

I think we're planning on doing one, my MOH is planning it so I'm not a 100% sure of the details but  I think we're doing the playa crawl. I've read some good reviews about them on here. They offer an escort for the duration of the evening and a escort back to the resort for a little extra,  which would make me feel safer,

As sad/scary as the incident in Mazatlan is, personally I think it could happen anywhere. I think the area where we are staying is supposed to be a lot safer too. If anything, we live in Edmonton so we can handle anything LOL.

Go with you gut, if you're uneasy about it, plan something at the resort.

So.... dumb question but if I burn songs to a CD from my itunes will that be okay? I think all my songs are MP3 or MP4s... i'll have to check lol

It didn't work when I did it.  Thankfully I had a backup.  I had burn a disc from itunes and then I had to find a computer that didn't have itunes, rip the CD onto it in MP3 format instead of MP4 and then burn a copy of the MP3 songs to a new Cd.  it was a totally pain, but in the end it was worth it.

I would suggest 12th Ave in Playa Del Carmen.  The bars are close together and pretty safe.

My brother and 2 of our friends went to the Coco Bongo... said they had the best time of their life, it was the best club they've ever been to, it holds like a 1000 people and its incredible. When you get to mexico watch channel 9, it shows highlights of the coco bongo and my bro says its like walking into the commerical. They paid $60 each which got them a ride to the coco bongo at 10pm and a ride back real real late i think and all drinks included. Something to consider, but I regret not joining them, I will go back and I will go there! ha ha

So after a LOOOT of stress we decided to book a photographer in Calgary.  I am calling my TA in the morning to book her flight.

I know this question has been asked but...the resort doesn't give you problems if your photographer is booked into the hotel?  I planned on just telling Arrecifce and Jazmin a friend has now offered to take our pictures.  Should I email them and give advance notice of this?

Also one of the brides on here recently brought her own photographer I believe and had a gorgeous picture taken of her and new hubby in the gazebo, i believe dancing?  I am trying to find who it was and look through her photos again, anyone remember?

I have had my wedding pack from Thomas Cook today and it tells me I need to get birth certificates translated, certified as correctly translated by a Spanish speaking lawyer then legalised by another company. It will cost about £200 i think. Did you have a legal ceremony? Do you have to register the marriage at a registry office when you get back in the UK?

I dont want to spend the money if it is not necessary.

Yes from south wales! neither of us had been married before/changed any names so all we needed was to meet with WC with passport and immigration card that they give out on the plane.  needed to take passports & cards from us and the 4 witnesses. We had emailed scanned copies of all passports before hand too. We took our birth certificates just incase but didnt need them. Just had the blood test then when we got there.....very daunting but it was fine! not a bruise!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
