When I was at the Dolce Vita last (2008) it was glass hurricane vases with an oil lamp in the center.  I will write this on my list to take pictures of next week for you.  Anything else that you need?

At one point we needed more seats for our wedding group because our flights to Cancun was all sold out. Our TA told us not to worry because she could always book the resort and flight separately, and our guests would still be upgraded with the rest of the wedding group. You could see if your TA can look into doing that? Or I can provide you my TA's contact :), she's amazing and quick to reply!

For any of the ladies staying at Akumal. Are any of your guests booking outside of the travel agent having a hard time finding packages for Akumal?

We have been able to find quite a few of packages for Tulum and Coba in May but none of Akumal. I emailed Jazmin today explaining what we have been able to find and asking what their policy was for wedding guests and whether or not they would allow them to dine with us.

I feel like iâ€ve been having an opposite experience with the resort and travel agency. Jazmin has been quite good about responding to our inquiries where as I canâ€t get any definitive answer from our travel agent. Not even an itinerary yet.Weâ€d switch travel agencies if our all our deposits werenâ€t non refundable lol. I think so far our travel agent has been the most stressful and hardest part of planning our wedding so far.

I hope everyone else is having a more pleasant experiencing with their travel agents! :)

Is the Arlequin one of the restaurants in Akumal? We only had the choice of Dolce vita or Frutos del mar. Still haven't decided yet lol

Thanks... that would be great! I guess if you are going to be there, would you also mind just taking a general  shot of the Dolce Vita restaurant as well.  So I can get a feel of the decor, the tables, and the layout?

Also, if possible the location of the pool side reception for Akumal. I know I really want to do this, but have yet to see and get a good feel of how this is set up so any additional photos are much appreciated!

Thanks so much again :)

The big thing was telling my guests about what to expect at the airport.  A lot of them had never been to Cancun and things are done WAY differently than they are here in the states.

Not a problem at all!  I plan on taking a picture of all of the restaurants if I can swing it.  That way nobody will have to question it anymore.

As for the poolside reception for Akumal, that's what I had.  It's directly outside the lobby just on the otherside of the pool.  I'll try and get a wide angle picture so you get a better feel of it.

Less than two months to go!

For those who have had paper lanterns over the dance floor..how much string did you bring?  Jazmin suggested 30 meters, that seems like a lot and I am not even sure if I could find a pack of that much string.  She said 30 meters just in case

Has anyone ever had their hair styled but left down by the spa,  all the pics I see are nice, but up-do's.  I know it might be warm and windy but I know I want my hair mostly down, just a bit pulled back.

We have only booked our reception for 2 hours....I figured after that if we wanted we could go to the lobby bar then disco if we wanted even later.   So do you think 2 hours will be enough?

So much to do!! Eeek!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
