oooooo i actually have a good pic of that - I'll look for it tonite and post it..
by the looks of things- you have a decent amount of privacy on the sides and back...the only part thats available for people to see is if they walk in front of the palapas (by the ocean)

Hi Ladies,

Our wedding was at the Gran Bahia Principe Tulum on November 30, 2011 at the Beach location (you enter the beach through a jungle like setting and it was so beautiful) .  I'm not going to do a full review as we just got back and with Christmas just around the corner I am one BUSY wife! but I can try to answer your questions.  The wedding coordinators were AMAZING and have everything planned out to the second.  We were treated SO well at Tulum, they make your stay VERY VERY special.  Feel free to ask questions.  We had dinner at the Tequila restaurant and from what I hear the fish was very good (Iâ€m a veggie so I was made veggie fajitas) We also had  a pool party after and I would defiantly recommend it, so worth the extra money.

On a side note- as part of our gift to our guest we decided to rent out a catamaran for the afternoon.  We used Paradise Catamarans (I just found then via google http://www.paradisecatamarans.com/) and it was the best catamaran weâ€ve ever been on.  Our Captain was Alex and he was FANTASTIC and the boat was beautiful!  And although we promised not to talk about the special touches, I will say that they go above and beyond for the bride and groom.

Like I said feel free to ask me some questions and Iâ€ll try my best to answer them.

Cheers

Hey,

Thank you sooo much for your post! So you mentioned the Tequila restaurant was good? I'm still trying to pick b/w that and the brazilian. Also, for the pool party, was it with a DJ and dancefloor and all that? Was it a package deal?

P.S. We're def gonna do the catamaran, thanks a lot for the advice!!

Hi mhrushch,

Tequila restaurant was good but I've also heard really good things about the Brazillian.  The pool party had a DJ (with disco type lights), open bar and I can't remember if there was a dance floor but there was a large area for dancing, they did a really good job with a few tall tables for sitting, candles and some lights, I don't have pictures yet but will post when I do.   We had the party for 2 hours and had 18 people and the cost was 660usd.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
