Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Okay so myself and my wedding planner have been emailing arrecife and not getting a clear answer back. when the manager finally emailed me (we were inquiring about booking the video of ceremony) he told me they could do video service from 2pm of me getting ready, the ceremony and photo session "behind the scenes" with a 5% discount it'd be $700USD!!!!!! Are you effin crazy?! That's not what I want nor what I was orignally told. I emailed him back and said I ONLY want a video/DVD of the ceremony and was quoted before at $400USD. and asked if he could honor that price and JUST film the ceremony to show our friends and family at home. he hasn't gotten back to me yet (i realize their busy and take awhile-- it is mexico afterall ha ha) but will they let me just book it in person when I get down there on Oct 28th?? Or do i need to book in advance? i just feel like explaining in person will be much easier than emailing back and forth and not getting a clear answer outta them. Also, I DO NOT want to pay 700 bucks for a video when I only want like 25 min of coverage not 3 or 4 hours whatever it was, I was only expecting to pay 400!!! grrr! please if any of you did the video let me know how much it was and what they covered, and can i wait til oct 28 to book it in person?? [my wedding is nov 2nd]

thanks!!!

I would just be as detailed when you do ask questions and when the answer that is given doesn't make sense ask again! LOL  Basically from reading this thread I came up with a bunch of questions to ask and she did a good job in answering them.

I had a video done of just the ceremony (keep in mind this was over a year ago now!) I had inquired about price with the WC and she told me $400. When we arrived, we confirmed with Arrecife what we wanted and they told us it was $500. We mentioned that we were quoted $400 and they honoured that price. They arrived about 15 minutes before the tram picked us up and did a couple of shots of me getting ready, filmed the ceremony and a few shots of us getting our pictures taken after the ceremony. Just thinking about it makes me want to go home and watch it again! Definitely worth the money...although not for $700!

Thats awesome. And ya $700 is way over my budget. See I don't want any shots of me getting ready or pictures afterwards, just the ceremony. I'm hoping he gets back to me soon, making me nervous lol

StylishmeNC - Eugenia is my co-ordinator as well I am booked to get married the day before you - March 30, 2012 at 3pm and I am having the same problems.

My last 4 emails over the last 3 weeks are still not responded to... and yes I am getting nervous too.

I just keep hearing that she is amazing at pulling everything togther on the day and try to let that settle my worries... but it is hard to wait.

I have all of the info she sent me - and have booked everything - am just waiting on a couple answers and confirmation everything is booked and a go. So if you need any information let me know - I can forward it to you too.

Good luck in your planning LindsayDS

Hey Lindsay,

Its at least good to know that I am not the only one with this issue! And like you said, its just really hard to wait.

If you don't mind sending me the information you have that would be fantastic! My email is jillblecha@gmail.com

If you don't mind me asking, what are all your plans? Wedding location? Dinner? Are you doing a pool side reception? etc etc :)

Thanks,

Jill

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
