Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

i emailed those to you, i am thinking that i am going to send them out in September. with an RSVP date in November, that way people can still have time to decide if they want to go but it gives me enough time with a final number. my aunt is making my invites and she just started to design them so i guess once we decide on one and she gets them made that is when i will send them out but i am shooting for sept.

Thanks Andree!  The fabric is the $2.99 a yard fabric from Hobby Lobby.  It a satin blend.  I used the 40% off coupon and it was super cheap then!  They also have a lot of really great colors.

I also took that same fabric and had a sash made for my bridesmaid's dresses so everything matched perfectly.  That worked out swimmingly well I must say :)

Hi Cheryl Thank you for sending me the menus. Are you doing OOT bags? I wonder if they will let me courier them there. That would be great if you could email me the flower pictures and the spa menu please. That is great that you have someone making our invites. I made my save the dates, 110 3 page boarding passes. It was definitely a lot of work. I think I might get someone to make my invitations. Did Maria let you know if the dinner will be private or will you have other resort guests in the restaurant? Thanks again for all your help! :)

I will email you those over to you. I have not decided if i am going to do OOT bags yet, i want to but i dont know about bringing all that extra stuff, I might just put it all in a duffel bag or a box so i do not have to pay for the luggage on the way home.

Maria did not tell me if it is going to be private or not but from what i have read on here it sounds like they try not to make reservations until after you will be done

Are you using the photographer at the resort or bringing one with you? I have read that they will charge you $500 for using an outside photographer do you know if that is true? My finace's cousin is a photographer and I wouldnt mind bringing her to take our pictures. Thats a good idea with the duffle bags.  Thanks again for all the information you are the best Bride Buddycheesy.gif.

15 meters = 16.4 yards so you have plenty :)

Do NOT ship anything down to Mexico.  There are threads about it throughout this website, but basically the customs in Mexico is kind of ridiculous and you are not gauranteed to get your stuff delivered.  In fact, kind of the opposite.  The WC also don't have room to store everyone's stuff so they will ask that you don't ship anything as well.

For my wedding I had the luggage that you can buy where it's a big one, and then you open it and there is another luggage, and then another luggage.  That worked out perfect!  I was able to just put them inside of themselves to bring home.  AND I threw my wedding dress in the smallest luggage so I only had our one suitcase of clothes and then one suitcase of suitcases/dress :)  That was nice compared to the four suitcases and wedding dress that we had on the way down!

As for photographer fee, yes, if your photographer is a guest at the hotel then the $500 fee does not apply.  Naturally you'll want to get that in writing as well as excuse the services of the hotel photographer.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
