Honestly I got more info on her than the resort website and wedding planner. The WP are basically just order takers.

For all of you future brides, I am having the Akumal hamock beach ceremony and then pool side dinner and dance so I can let you know when I get back how it all works and what it costs. I will be back in two weeks. We are having our honeymoon at the Eldorado Royal Casita Suites.

.......here we go.....wish me luck!!

I have a stupid question... we are trying to decide what kind of koozies we want.... and need to know in what kind of glass they serve drinks?  Anybody know?  My FH thinks that its better to get them to fit glass and not only beer since most of people will be drinking mixers....  Any idea?

Melady, I've never been to this resort, but have stayed in all inclusives in Mexico and have seen pictures of online of the folks at GBP drinking online, and I think they all serve their cocktails in plastic cups (probably 6.5oz) similar to plastic cups.jpgthis image. Not sure if you can get koozies in that size. I could be wrong though! I hope I'm wrong, as I always need to make dozens of trips to the bar because the cups are so small!!! Good luck-- and great idea. I still have the cozie I got at my cousins wedding, and I think of her everytime I use it ;) You could always get personalized plastic cups for people that they can ask the bartenders to use to make their drinks in... which would be larger and cut down on trips to the bar! Hmm... I like that idea. I'm giving out beach bags and (knock-off) ray bans in our colours! Maybe I'll add some large cups too.... Have fun!

I've seen some pictures of the cakes... does anyone know if they will add some coloured flowers on the side or something? They looked pretty white and plain... This is my cake topper, so the cake has to match somewhat! (ps. I got it from < http://www.etsy.com/shop/Garden4Arts > they have a tonne of cute ones!)

I think I am going to explode in the next 6 weeks. How is everyone else feeling?

melady24,

Koozies are great for the cans of pop and beer that are in your fridge but, for bar drinks I would highly recommend insulated travel mugs. They keep your drink cold and are environmentally preferable to the disposable cups they provide at most bars. They may be a bit more expensive if you order them customized but totally worth it. If you want more economical, most dollar stores carry them and you can personalize them with a label maker.

Another note...if you decide on the insulated travel mugs, bring along some straws. They are not available at the beach bars and we find they work well with the mugs, especially for some of the slushy blender drinks. People always ask me where I got the straws and I end up giving a bunch away.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
