Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Amie: I also wanted Sara Tamargo to do my hair and makeup.  If I have to pay $90 for her to come on-site, then I might as well have her do hair/makeup for my bridesmaids too.

I finally bought my wedding dress on Friday and I guess I was late in ordering, because I have to pay a $150 rush charge and they said it will barely arrive at the beginning of June or the end of May (my wedding is June 11, 2011).  Hopefully it comes in faster than they said, so I don't have to stress.

Next I need to pick bridesmaid dresses, because they apparently take 12-16 weeks for the order.  I feel like I'm behind on everything.  haha Oh well!  I'm not stressed, so that's good.

Hi Ladies!

I have decided on this resort for my wedding!  I am very excited!  Wedding to be July 2012....

For those of you who were married here - can I ask what the avg cost per guest was?  Red tag has some offers at 800pp plus taxes, but also says about 1700 pp plus tax!!!

My family is by no means well off! and I mean, I much prefer the cost of 800 pp!!!

What were you averaging the cost out for people?

Would be much appreciated!  Thanks <3

I paid for everything at the end with my Visa.  There were no charges added for currency conversion, which was shocking to me.  They explained it, but I didn't really understand what they were saying.

My cost for guests was right around 600-800pp depending on length of stay.  But we went in April which is busy season.

Hi Everyone!

I hope all you future brides are enjoying the planning!  I have a question for any brides that got married last October, Patoru, etc...  have you received your marriage licence from the reosrt yet?  I know they tell you it take 3 months to arrive.  I've sent Eugenia multiple emails for at least a status of when they will ship and I haven't heard a peep.

This is starting to stress me out!

Thanks for that.  I did speak with Eugenia again and she told me that all outside vendors have to pay $90 USD and that if he brings someone I will need to pay for them as well.  I don't know if I should question Eugenia again or just let it go.  Has anyone used DJ Bijan recently?  If so can you clear up whether there was a fee for him (and his wife...I have heard that she comes as well to take video) coming to the resort.

This is cut and pasted from the email she sent me!!

Hola Amie,
Sorry but I dont know this company, from other suppliers just DJ Bob and DJ Bijan because both always do a lot a wedding parties (DJ Bob is the main one because has more parties), and also please keep in mind that If you going to hire an external suppliers (I dont mean DJ Bob or DJ Bijan because they have arragementd already with Bahia) you need to cover the day pass charge, it is 90usd per person,

Hope that helped

x

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
