Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I am a newbie and have been tryng to get into contact with the wedding coordinator to get some inormation about the extras avilalble for wedding packages (dinners, cocktail receptions, flowers, etc) and to get some images of the flower arrangements and cakes available.

I am thinking of this resort as a possible future destination wedding location.  You ladies provide some very helpful information on here and was hoping maybe some of you wouldn't mind emailing me all the details they have received lately with upgrades, pricing, bouquet/cake pictures.  I have read the information on here, but it would be very helpful to have it in an ameil so it is easier to go back into and look at.

Thanks so much ladies for being so forthcoming and helpful with all the infromation you have received!!

Hey Wendy,

I emailed you the wedding package prices, pictures of the Tulum wedding sites you can choose from, and the price of some of the extras.  For prices on dinner or poolside cocktail reception, you have to ask the wedding coordinator.  Because she get information on all of the things you will need and then she gives you a total price.

Of course the pictures I sent you are just the ones I received from the resort.  The best pictures are on facebook "Arrecife Studio Mexico".  Also some girls on this forum posted a lot of good pictures.

For flowers, there is a flower catalog which I will email to you.  But I've read on this forum that if you show them a picture of a flower arrangement you like, they do a good job of replicating it.

Hey Angie!

I looked at the snapfish pictures, you look beautiful and everything looks fantastic!!  Was your cake the one include in the package?  Because I see that the cake is 3 tiers.  Jazmin is asking me what kind of cake I want and I don't know how to answer her.  I want Tres Leches cake and I would like for it to look like the cake that you have.  But I'm afraid they're going to charge extra??  So do I tell Jazmin that I want the "conventional cake" with tres leches and no additional dessert for my guests?  Then I hopefully get 2 or 3 tiers?  I have about 25 guests.

Also, you said that the fruit cocktail was included in the package, but I don't see it listed on there.  Jazmin didn't mention anything about fruit cocktail, only that I could purchase bottles of champagne.  Also, is there any alcohol in fruit cocktail or what exactly is it?

Thanks for all the information!!

Thanks Christi!

Our cake was the "deluxe option", we didn't do desert at the dinner, just the cake, and we had 52 people, there was no extra charge for the three tiers?  There was plenty of cake for our guests :)

Hmmm, Jazmin had asked if we wanted to pay extra for champagne to toast with, I said no, and she said a "fruit cocktail" was included at no charge to toast with.  It tasted fruity, I honestly don't know if there was alcohol in it or not though!  LOL

Hey Wendy I sent you another email with Paloma's email address and the prices I received for private poolside party (dinner separate).

Hey girls, my matron of honor entered me into a contest for the local radio station, which I didn't know about.  I won the contest.  Yay!  I get 2 free tickets to the Bridal Extravaganza in Houston this weekend.  Plus me and my fiancee get to have dinner with Randy Fenoli this Saturday, I think he's the host of the "Say Yes to the Dress" show.  I'm excited, but I've never seen the show.  I hope they are not going to ask me to be on the show??!!  I don't know...mixed feelings.  Has anyone seen the show??  They mentioned that a few other vendors from the extravaganza will be there, so maybe they will be wedding dress vendors trying to sell me an expensive designer dress????  Here's a link to the contest: http://www.krbe.com/CONTESTS/RandyFenoli/tabid/1599/Default.aspx

That is what we did, dinner from 6 - 8, cocktail party from 8 - 11 (where we did speeches and dancing) and then to the disco!  It was so much fun!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
