Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi Nikki, thank you!  It was so much fun, I wish we could do it all over again!  He he.  The pink colored wine is actually the resort's "fruit cocktail" that is included to toast with after the ceremony.  It is extra for champagne.  It tasted pretty good!

Your wedding photos look beautiful! Congratulations! We have the same wedding colors (as do 80% of the brides! lol) and I noticed in one of the photos that you have a pink colored sparkling wine. what did you put in the wine to make it this color? did you bring something with you, so did the resort do it?

Thanks

Nikki

Hello brides old and new! It's been awhile since I've posted.. sorry!

Anyway, I had some trouble printing my wedding photos from Arrecife due to copywright. I remember asking Nestor about this and he assured me there wouldn't be a problem but I should've known better... all the places I print at are very uptight about printing professional photos without a release. Anyway, after several emails back and forth I finally received this release form directly from Arrecife. Wanted to post for any of you who might need it. If it's already been posted sorry for the repost!

I hope everyone is doing well! Looks like I have a lot of catching up to do!

I know everyone, including myself, would most likely turn their nose when it comes to using the photographer provided by the resort but I saw pictures of a wedding on the Akumal side where the bride had posted the few pictures part of her package and they were VERY GOOD and she had regretted not going with this fellow.

I saw this awhile back and silly me, I didn't write down the name of the photographer

One of the pictures were from a far view in the trees looking out unto the wedding site while guests were arriving

anyone recall the name by chance? I realize I may be taking a shot in the dark but I can't say I tried?

Hi AngieEH: The resort photographers have a Facebook account "Arrecife Studio Mexico". http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Arrecife-Studio-Mexico/141628232524938

The two resort photographers are Nestor and Juan.  You can see examples of photos they took on facebook.

Swankster:  Thanks!  I didn't even think of that.  I won't be able to download until I get to 150 posts.  But I should eventually get there and I'll save the link.

I had Nestor as well and he was amazing. I think you can request someone but its not 100% guaranteed depending on their schedule. If you are just getting the photos included in the wedding package I think that it's just photos of the ceremony.

I dont think they take the time to do photos afterwards with family and what not since its only 10 or so photos you are getting. I could be wrong though not quite sure because we booked the basic package $540USD which included 36 photos plus the 10 in our package. I definetly recommend this if you can afford it. Friends and family took a ton of photos but the photos they take are really really good quality and get really romantic and neat shots.  We ended up buying more for a total of 87 photos since there were so many nice ones to choose from.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
