Crazy that we were so close on the Thursday! Had we only known...can't wait to read your review!

Cheers,

Yup, that was us! We had an ipod in a Bose portable speaker on a table at the edge of the pool. We also had an added "lady" to our group...well part of one anyway. One of my friends "borrowed" the braid manequin head from the table outside of the washrooms in the Tulum lobby. We sat her on a table too attempting to disguise her with my hat and sunglasses. She was returned to her rightful place in the lobby after our antics and photos of course!

We also had glow bracelets on most nights for dinner and drinks at the round bar at Tulum. Except Tuesday night...we gave them all away to any children we saw on the resort.

Trish - thanks for posting some pics of the poolside reception. It looks like there is lots of room. I was worried because we have a big group and I wanted room for dancing too. Can't wait!!  Did the resort give you the glow in the dark ice cubes? Those are great.

Hi

Congratulations! We re getting wed 15th april 2011 3pm, 5 months away! Im getting nervous about not knowing much about when we re there, on the wedding day? My wedding co-ordiantor is Karla, anyone had her? :) Ive only had one email and no response. I think we're in the Coba! I was hoping for the beach but oh well although the restaurant provided med rest. Im not keen on set menu. Did your ceremony get translated or in English? Are there several beach locations or is there a Coba beach wedding? My other half is 6ft 2 and Im 5ft 6 so wanting to wear heels with dress etc, do you think I d walk ok on beach ha ha or maybe ask for wooden aisle? Thanks Id appreciate a lowdown of wedding day/times etc anything really.

thanks xxxx

Hi Kat! Do not fret, Karla is amazing! Communication over email is slow since the WC's are rarely sitting at their desks. But when we met with Karla at the resort, she had everything we had discussed and accommodated any of our requests. She let us know that she couldn't be there on the actual day but she had Jazmin there as well who was completely filled in on all of our plans.

We stayed at the Coba as well and you have your choice of any of the wedding locations, including the Akumel beach location by the hammocks. I highly recommend the Tulum gazebo since it's right out on the beach but you have a stone pathway (but I'm biased since that was my wedding location!).

Our ceremony was completely in English.

Hope that answers some of your questions!

Ha I remeber speaking to your group while walking by at one point saying that brigning your own radio was an awesome idea! You were all just chilling in the pool with your drinks having a grand old time! That's awesome small world for sure!!

Hey Kat!

Don't worry about the late correspondence.  Its true they really are running around and rarely at their desk.  My ceremony was both in Spanish and English.  I requested the beach location and was barefoot as was my maid of honor.  I put on my heels just before we headed to dinner.  I was worried about my dress and walking on the beach, but my Dad held up part of it as we walked.  I had asked for an early afternoon ceremony but Eugenia said the only time available was 5PM.  It worked out fine as I had a really stress free morning and was relaxing into the afternoon.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
