Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Whooo Hooo!!!! I can FINALLY say I am an official GBH-Tulum Bride. Confirmed June 1, 2011. 1 guests booked so far.

I have been "lurking" on this thread for almost 2 months. After a WHOLE LOT of chaos, and at least a little bit of Bridezilla, I can finally be official. You ladies are great!

I am working my way through this thread (4 days and 282 pages). I had been skipping around, but have now committed to the entire thread. I am glad that I did, since I found A Lot of valuable info.

Unfortunately (I think), Jazmin is my WC, so I know I am in for some bumps with communication. Fortunately I know to copy Paloma for ALL emails, and that is thanks to the wonderful ladies on this thread.

I plan to finish the thread today or tomorrow, and then start firing away with the questions.  Can't wait to be an "active" member, instead of "lurker". Lol

P.S. I promise all of my posts won't be this long, but I've just been waiting so long to post as an official bride.smile123.gif

There are 2 different types of Poolside reception you can have so make sure you know which one you're asking for and what you're getting with it.  I know Tsleege had a full reception poolside... that means dinner was also poolside instead of in a resort restaurant.  We had a poolside cocktail party, which was after the dinner at the resort, just speeches and dancing.  They're very different prices.

Welcome to all the new GBP Brides!

Welcome to the group! I'm an Akumal Bride, but I have been to the resort before and stayed on the Tulum side and loved it!

Congrats!

Hey! I'm unfortunately still waiting to hear back from my WC about some questions that I had about the reception, which I sent last Tuesday...starting to go crazy waiting as it's only 8 weeks away!

Just curious for those who used Arrecife Studio, which photographer did you have and how did you think they did? I have looked at the pictures on the facebook page and thinking I am liking Nestors pictures but would like some feedback from those of you who have actually used them.

Thanks! pinkie.gif

You're Nov 18, right? Akumal or Coba? What questions do you have, maybe we can compare notes. Good luck!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
