Thank you!!

The buffets were great in my opinion... a lot of the same things every day but everyone in my group liked it. As for restaurants... we had our wedding dinner at La Gran Tortuga and it was amazing... the salad bar/buffet/appetizers were really good and the swords with meat were unbelievable... everyone raved over it... plus it was so unique and different that a typical wedding dinner... I loved it. We also ate at Tequila a different night... it was also very good. Other guest of ours ate at Dolve Vita, Mikado and portofino... all great reviews especially Mikado (japanese)... we had 3 reservations we could've made but we didn't act on it until it was too late... my advice is to pick out in advance where you want to eat and set it up on your first night.

Thank you such much for the review. I am torn between having the private pool side reception or eating at la gran totuga and just having a pricae cocktail/dance party after dinner. I am sooo glad to hear the food was really good. That is a relief as I have heard horror stories of some other places :S

Thanks again, and congratulations.... you're a MRS :)

I agree with Swanster! The food was amazing. Yes, the buffet gets a bit redundant but it's all very good. I only heard negative reviews about the Mexican restaurant but all the rest we tried were excellent (we loved Tortuga as well - they practically had to roll me out of there!). I would highly recommend having your dinner at an al a carte since you don't have to pay extra and have the private poolside reception after. We had our dinner at Portofino thinking it would be semi-private but they didn't book any dinner reservations until after our group was done so we had the whole place to ourselves!

That is amazing. I hope that happens for me :) ... But that is great news that everyone liked the tortuga restaurant...thank you so much for your review. I will definitely do my dinner there then! thanks for the advice...it is soo hard to make decisions for 30+ people when you have never been there before!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
