Your paying for a separate reception...poolside right?? She will charge us for the drinks and food is we decide to have food....no separate charge for the set up that I am aware of.
Thanks for that Patourn......are you having the resort photographer?

Yeah we are....more really because it comes with the package that we got. My BBF's husband does photography as he'll be taking the bulk of our phtos. And I have another friends husband videotaping the ceremoney for us.

WOW you looked beautiful :)

Sorry you didn't rate the resort much this time round though....got me a little worried?! Oh well am booked now!!

I have just got an email from Claudia Rodriguez saying that outside vendors can no longer go into resort unless we pay $1000 extra? You had Eric didn't you? Did he mention anything?

We were one of the last couples allowed to bring an outside vendor before the policy change. He was amazing and so fun to work with :)

I would just like to say that although I was not happy with the resort in general this time around, I was VERY happy with the wedding day and the service provided for that day. I think that if I had not been to the Bahia before and received AMAZING service that time, I would not have been so let down this time around.

Hi Ladies, Does anyone have a copy or know the legal ceremony order? What they say & what the vows are etc? Do they actually make you repeat after them the vows or do you take your own? Any ideas :)

& what is a sand ceremony? Do we bring that with us?

Thanks Ladies :)

For the brides who have had their wedding dinner at Gran Tortuga... how many people are seated at a table? Jazmin told me rectangle tables that can be put together can seat 7-10 people but I swear one or more of you had the rectangle table for your head table and then round tables for guests... I need to figure out my seating arrangement ASAP since I leave in less than a week! Any help is appreciated!! Thanks!

Hey you! You must be getting sooooo excited! I actually just clarified this with her the other day as I am trying to work on my own seating arrangments. Rectangular table for the wedding party for sure and I'm fairly certain she has told me round for the guests that you can "mix" the amount of people you have at each table. You can have 7 at one, 8 at another and 10 at another if you need to. They all don't have to have the same number of guests at each. Does that help you at all? I can check for you tomorrow to be sure...my emails from her are on my work account.

i can't remember the exact order of the ceremony...
but all you say is 'I DO'...nothing else
you sign papers, fingerprint them, then your witnesses sign it
you kiss...and then they pronounce you mrs & mrs...or husband and wife...i don't even know exact wording as most of it's a blur for me

in my opinion...it would be weird to extend the ceremony after they pronounce you mr & mrs...because normally at that time you walk down the aisle.

when we walked down the aisle we stopped at the end for photos with the resort photog (which is when i actually noticed he was there...he arranged with us a time to meet him the next day to see the photos)...and then someone handed us a glass of champagne...we all toasted...then proceeded with pics.

honestly...with the legal ceremony there is not a lot of 'room' for personalizing it...it's doable...but could be confusing.

just keep it simple...and if you really want to say somethingn special to one another save it for the reception speeches.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
