How are those reviews coming along?! haha just kidding ladies :)

I have a question about the meeting with the wedding coordinator... when is that scheduled? Is it always the 2nd day of your trip? I have an excursion planned for our 2nd day and we'll be gone from 8am til 6pm... and we want to book online before we get to mexico... but I'm concerned that Jazmin is going to schedule a meeting with me on this day. How flexible is that? Thanks!

Yeah, we had an excursion too, so we emailed her ahead of time, and then double checked when we checked in. It wasn't a big deal.

Thanks! I just sent Jazmin an email letting her know of our plans... hopefully we can do the same.

I hear ya midnight! We just had our AHR last friday. I tell ya, that was WAY more work to plan than the entire week in Mexico was! Now I'm in San Diego on our honeymoon (hubby's taking a nap so I'm sneaking in some BDW time!). I'll be back on Saturday and hopefully I'll have some time for a review once I'm back to real life!

Hi ladies, have a few questions for you:

When having a poolside reception do children come into the paying per person for drinks?

I am getting married on a Thursday so does this mean I can't use the resort DJ?

Also I keep reading about a cocktail hour after the ceremony but before dinner? Did anyone have this & is this part of the package or does it cost extra?

So many questions all the time, I don't know what I would do without this forum....some of you ladies should become wedding planners you know so much!! :)

Many thanks :)

I would think children DO count... since you're really paying for the service more than the booze. I have 1 child so I'll let you know when I get back for sure!

Not sure about the Thursday thing...

I am also having a cocktail hour.. but it is an informal gathering at the lobby bar so it's free!

Our WC charged us a lower cost for children since they can't drink booze. I can't remember what it was though. A few dollars less per child I recall.

Can't help you with the DJ since we didn't use one. iPod was the way to go for our poolside cocktail party! Cocktail party is after dinner. We paid to do the private poolside one which was great fun!

Re: Cocktail hour

I'm not sure if its for all weddings or only certain ceremony types, it should say I think in the documents they sent you when you chose the type of ceremony you wanted. Its directly after the ceremony (it was free for us) and its just toasting. They set up a table and have a couple of bottles of champagne for right after the ceremony so you can do toasts/pictures before you move over to the dinner location. It's a time filler mostly :)

That would be great if you could let me know, we have 10 children in our group so will make quite a difference over the 2 hours.....I bet you are so excited right now.....sending you best wishes :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
