i'm not really worried about plans, karla is the one who sent me an email on friday asking me to give her all the details on which restaurant, how many guests etc. i was looking forward to just deciding when we get there, but she said they need to know this far in advance.

FI was really hoping to have it at gran toruga but i guess we'll just eat there another day on the trip.
They move pretty quickly on the booking of things because if you waited there could be another bride scooping up that time and restaurant. Flowers you can wait until you get there. I am sure they have to figure if they have to close it to the public if you have a really large group. It isn't that big of a restaurant, again it really is classy and the salad bar certianly could feed people quite easliy. please have a few for me lolfriday.gif
The Gran Tortoga is nice and the food is great... A little older and overused, not as classy... you have gotten the better one...

I've been MIA ladies... but I'm back... only 3 months til i'm in Mexico!!

I'm going to be starting to work on my wedding programs soon. we're having the civil ceremony... would anyone be willing to share the wording of their programs or send me a picture for some ideas/reference? I'm really lost regarding this. Have really no idea how the ceremony will go so that makes it hard.

I'm going to have a ton more questions so any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Civil so your not getting married before? (I had a symbolic ceremony, we married before Mexcio) I know that the person conducting the ceremony follows strict vows and you have to repeat those and exchange the rings with her vows. Then you are allowed to repeat your own vows (which is kinda silly because you have already said them kinda sorta in her words). Mark and I just found that the ring part was totally weird to say because you already have your rings on your fingers.
He started with his own vows and didn't say the ring part. I did and it was just weird.. My husband said his while we were at dinner, he made me stand took my hand and pulled my ring off and said "I hate when people tell me what to say", this is what I wanted to say! and he said his commitment with the ring. Only my husband!!!!

So, I'm a little confused now... Im staying at Tulum. So I though I'd be able to have my dinner at Gran Tortoga, but my options are Potofino, and Pescador... Maybe because I wanted a beach wedding, and they have my Ceremony at Akumal? Is this what normally happens? I thought you got to choose from the restuants that are the hotel you are staying at...huh02.gif

The karaoke was so much fun to watch! LOL!!! I don't think they have it every night, but when they do... priceless! When we were there it was held in the Coba section. SO FUN!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
