Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hey ladies that have been married here... I need some opinions.

We're really trying to decide on the cake flavour. I've read that the 3 milk cake is good but we're torn on that and just plain vanilla. I'd love some reviews on the cake if you have had it??

Thanks!!

Here's a pic of the location we got from Eugenia who is the WC for the Akumal

Nikki,

Congrats on your engagement! We also are thinking Feb 2011 for our wedding at the Bahia. I am wondering if you were able to secure your date already and how did you go about doing this? My travel agent is being a bit slow and I am wanting to book the dates and start planning with the resort. I hear its a long and grueling process :P

Congrats again!

Hey Amanda,

The resort wont book your date until you have your room booked first (I already tried too) wink.gif I am currently waiting for a couple of quotes from travel agents so that I can confirm the booking. I am debating just paying my TA extra to do all of the planning and contacting the hotel for me, vs doing it myself. Like you said it can just be a bit trying dealing with the resort yourself as they always take so long to get back to anyone. On the other hand I already know exactly what I want, so would just be paying the TA to mediate! I don't know! huh.gif

The first quote that I got for Feb was quite expesive (given that Feb is in peak season), so I have now asked to April prices too. Maybe it will be cheaper. We'll see.

Anyone else out there have some input on February vs April pricing?

Cheers,

Nikki

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
